1n5ync 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) So I happened to see the offers on sgheadphones and emailed to be one of the beta testers for Plexcio Acoustics's new and upcoming capacitors. All these while I was kinda searching for a set of suitable caps to match my iMod + iQube + IE8 setup. But of the few caps I've tried so far, eg Sonicaps was smooth, had quite a bit of bass added to the IE8 but I realised the level of details it had wasnt where I wanted it to be. The few others... Well, didn't really impress me either. Anyways back to the topic, apparently they come in this small little black box thats very fits an iQube + iPod stacked nicely. I was given the oppurtunity to audition it, and on turning the music on, the first impression that came to my mind was WOW. DETAILS. I was greatly impressed. The level of details was a tremendous improvement over all the other caps I've tried, and it suddenly made my music very enjoyable. The thing is, sometimes the bass of IE8 tends to cover up some details. But. BUT. These caps seem to remove that "veil". I would say these caps are on the bright sounding side. Needless to say, at the bargain price I was offered, I decided to buy it on the spot(: Heres a rough review that would be updated when I have time, according to the number of hours my caps are burned in: 0 hours - Even at 0 hours of burn in, the level of details is quite amazing. Though the resolution of music needs improvement. It's not as smooth as sonicaps, but still, amazing! Bass could be a bit tighter maybe because the IE8s are so bass heavy. Highs are prominent and clear and as I've said, this caps is on the bright yet clear sounding side. 50 hours - the level of details improved even more! I was quite surprised as it already had a lot of details in the fist place. Resolution of music has improved by leaps and bounds especially for the bass guitars! But most noticably the bass tightened up by quite a lot. Now its bass is very controlled, tight and precise. A few days ago, I tried listening to a live concert track, the atmosphere was great! As if I was part of the concert! Adding on, the high level of details provided by the caps made it extremely enjoyable. The effect is really remarkable. On a side note, listening to the intro of "Let's Get Retarded" by Black Eyed Peas, I realised the bass extension could do with some improvement... Perhaps it would deepen with some more burn in? Besides that so far the price for this is amazingly low for what it can do for me. Will be updated again when it hits the 100 hour mark (: Edited May 30, 2010 by 1n5ync
