Does HD555 and ATH-AD700 need a amp?

I am going to buy one of them and i heard some saying that hd555 need a amp to work. Is that true? My budget doesnt allow me to buy another amp and i hope this 2 does not need a amp to work. Thanks

At 50ohms and 112dB, I would consider the HD555 relatively efficient and amping would be optional.

How bout the ATH AD700? do it need a amp?
