Where to find good CD player locally

Recommended Posts

Yes indeed that City Electronics is run by the family (from father to daughters)

In fact they have been in this business for more than 12-15 yrs or more.

I'm very happy with the sound, now that it is burn-in to about 300 hrs. I've made my own iPod docking cable with Cat5e and a shielded USB2 cable. Both sound much better than the original cable from Apple.

The built-in DAC is fantastic! On a good recording, the lossless sounds just as good as the CD itself.

Coming from the audiophile point of view, this player is definitely worth at least 2 times its price, for both the function and sound quality.

Well, my next exploration, is the Audeze LCD-2!!

Wow, Marantz released a lite version of the SA-KI Pearl? If it's within your budget, go for it. Another option in your price range is the Cambridge Audio 740C at Alpha Audio.

Any idea how much is this CAmbridge audio cdp?

If not wrong should be region of $1k odd, to be exact not sure.

Just find that Cambridge Audio & the prices rather commercialized.

At this kinda region pricing, many other choices as well.

Get the littledot cdp1 (cd transport) and save money. Its not worth paying for a cd player since you already have a good dac.

Fully agree with this...that's mainly the reason why I go for other brands other than CA as well.

If want to buy CA, might be better off with a good cond preowned set. Pay a lot less, lose less imho.
