Rameish 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 I'm concerned how this thread has gone from Marantz to Oakley LOL. I've been looking for some prescription sunglasses for a long time - however I'm an old fart so any other options.

I've been looking for some prescription sunglasses for a long time - however I'm an old fart so any other options. There's a Jap brand (can't recall) that does pretty nice titanium alloy, rimless specs. Lightweight yet very durable, has been using it for over 6 years. Changed lens twice but no damage on the frame yet. Okay, back to the Marantz, after running in for more than 96 hours, the brightness is not there anymore. Phew! Now, I'm just gonna "Enjoy the Music". Edited May 2, 2003 by Northern Oak
Blues 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 woah... 800 dollars for the cyclops' specs?? no way man... even at 500 I am still quite hesitant. anyway, the spec is for show or does it really have the lens , if you know what I mean.. lol..
ablaze 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 I'm concerned how this thread has gone from Marantz to Oakley LOL. I've been looking for some prescription sunglasses for a long time - however I'm an old fart so any other options. oakley got some more "mature" looking designs what hehe its the only frame that'll last forever, in the sense that even if its 5 years old, you break it, you pay $30, and they'll give you a brand new frame! how do you beat that for value
evil-zen 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 what $800?? u can almost buy the Marantz CD17 and enjoy bliss of pure music. lucky i don have to wear glasses although i have slight myopia.
Northern Oak 0 Report post Posted May 2, 2003 (edited) Right on. Oakley specs ranges from S$150-S$850 but I think it would be crazy to spend more than S$450 on any specs. For that, I could get a DT880/Senn HD600 and even have spare change in my pocket. Slapping myself here, "smack smack". I admit those glasses look too cool at times and you tend to lose sensibility. Adding to what ablaze has mentioned, the S$30 for repair is just becos' your warranty is up. Else FOC. Edited May 2, 2003 by Northern Oak
