DIY session

Recommended Posts

Hi Bram...., hi guys...,

sorry for not participating in da' forum lately.....

(hard times @ work ) ...not even touch audio for the past 3-4 weeks..

what I would suggest...perhaps... probably some gathering...

exchange words and some DIY guy can do a mod, then we can watch

how he handle the solder / components..etc...

U will be amazed , how much you can learn from watching ...and of course

asking question to the groups... innocent.gif how bout that kicking.gif

Good idea, but time and place will be the constrain no.gif

We can plan it early though, like 2 months in advance wink.gif

DIY phases:

1. Study. Study what you want that is the most important thing. Learn what you like from Audio, the bass, the warm mid, the transparant treble, the imaging, etc. Also study what you need to know about headphone, amplifier, and sources,... cables too.

2. Planning (including components selection). In this case plan the amp your are going to build. I always spend more time on planning than assembling. Plan the circuit diagram, the board layout, the casing, what components to use, etc.

3. Assembling. The fun part tongue.gif Your skill will improve over time yes.gif

That's it! After that is burnt in and listening phase headphone.gif

So for newbies, you can start with the study phases yes.gif

Hi gurus,

Personally i think the studying bit can only be appreciated when noobs get their feet wet. Once they got their first project running...slowly and surely the upgrading bit will come in.

Now ears are still very waxy....pls. help.

How about this, before jumping to the pool, let's do some homework to know more about the pool happy.gif

Please list a few specification of an amplifier that we need to know.

Have you actually ever built a working meta42/pimeta headphone amp? (someone had to ask this question)

thanks hacknet, for offering your help.

Guess for noobs any amp goes. What we need is to bulit up our confidences and the correct way to test the circuit, soldering tips and how do's on adding vol. pot, power supply etc.

Should I start by having a list of those interested.
