Vocal recommendations

Recommended Posts

Firstly, props to [Top-Gun] for the loan of his Judy Collins CD - Judy Collins sings Leonard Cohen. You guys should check out Judy - voice is like liquid amber, smooth as silk :P

Her voice resembles Cai Qin - who also has an awesome voice. The trouble with Cai Qin's songs is that the instrumental backing is terrible - really distracting

went to Sembawang today to try Cai Qin's CDs. Heard so often in forums about her outstanding vocal. My wife was wondering, why I suddenly like oldies songs :). Nice vocal I have to say. Any Cai Qin's fans can recommend nice album with nice recording? Thanks

Haven't listened closely to Judy Collins before, but does she belong to same era as Rosemary Clooney? Clooney has a wonderfully rich voice.

If you don't mind the retro orchestration, I personally think Karen Carpenter has one of the most beautiful and timeless voices I've come across.
