Ahlek 0 Report post Posted May 15, 2006 (edited) What music/songs bring tears to your eyes? Mine is "Fly Away" by Corrine May ... and only through my recent setup of ipod>PA2V2>Alessandro MS-1. Didn't have that *sob* effect when I played it over my mini-stereo combo though. The magic of decent cans I guess. Never thought it's possible but then again ... maybe I have mellowed Edited May 15, 2006 by Ahlek

Mackie 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber. If you aint sure what it is, remember the movie Platoon? This piece was used in the final scene when Charlie Sheen sheds his tears while hovering over the battleground in his helicopter. aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2006 (edited) Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton. Not really tears, but more of it being able to bring forth your emotions and take a step back. Must really read the lyrics though, the words are not too clear (sounds like Eric Clapton is really emotional there, grieving over his son's death) Edited May 16, 2006 by aaron-xp

Ahlek 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 I got another one (yes .. again ) "Somewhere over the rainbow" performance by Katherine McPhee in the current Americal Idol. This was in yesterday's show. Her interpretation of such a well-known and well-sung standard is just so amazing.

yotiao 0 Report post Posted May 18, 2006 Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor Beethoven's Symphony No. 7, second movement Allegretto, the first 3:18 mins I felt sad every time I listened to it. Although the marking of allegretto (translatable as "a little quickly") suggests Beethoven did not envisage it being played as slowly as comparable movements in his other symphonies, but this is still a little quicker than the usual slow movement marking of adagio (slowly). Chopin's Nocturne in F minor Op. 55 No. 1 Epitaph (Including March For No Reason And Tomorrow And Tomorrow) by King Crimson And these two Erhu perfomed by Min Huifen (闵惠芬): Moon's Reflection On ErQuan (二泉映月) River Water (江河水) YMMV

aaron-xp 0 Report post Posted May 19, 2006 Josh Groban - To where you are. Especially during the 911 incident, when he's song kept playing on the radio. sad1.gif Come to think of it, it seems rather emotional, given the circumstances at that time. Here's my analysis: Who can say for certain Maybe you're still here I feel you all around me Your memories so clear Deep in the stillness I can hear you speak You're still an inspiration --> Death for the victims, so surreal, yet still real. Can it be That you are mine Forever love And you are watching over me from up above -->Loved ones in Heaven. Died, but forever watching over us. Fly me up to where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile to know you're there A breath away's not far To where you are --> So close, so close and yet so far (I like dreaming) Are you gently sleeping Here inside my dream And isn't faith believing All power can't be seen --> They are not here (in disbelief) As my heart holds you Just one beat away I cherish all you gave me everyday 'Cause you are mine Forever love Watching me from up above --> remembering the fond times they had together And I believe That angels breathe And that love will live on and never leave --> Death will not do us part Fly me up To where you are Beyond the distant star I wish upon tonight To see you smile If only for awhile To know you're there A breath away's not far To where you are --> Same as the previous chorus I know you're there A breath away's not far To where you are --> Indeed, a breath away's not far, to where you are, given the frailty of life. How's the Literature analysis?
