It really depends if you're willing to carry the extra size/weight of a canamp (as Mackie suggested?) out. If you're using larger players like the ZenVision:M and the iPod Video, it would make sense (tying them up together) but if you're going ultra portable, then there isn't really a point (especially with smaller flash based players, your amp would tend to be larger than the player itself).
