IEM = inner ear monitors. This type of headphones originally used by singers and musicians to monitor their music or vocals as they perform. Now consumer versions are freely available. They offer very good isolation and also excellent sound qualities. Ranges from abt $40 - hundreds of dollars. If you google for IEM, I am sure you can find more info.
