radioactive28 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2007 The one good thing about it is expanded stereo, but at the cost of accuracy. Like Dolby processing, it emphaises the parts of sound that people pay more attention to: high-bass to low-treble. Plus the already-mentioned time-delay effect (this affects music most: you can throw attack and decay out the window). I think I can live with it while travelling and listening on IEMs (having extremely narrow staging).
izack 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2007 always sounded kinda strange to me ... but seriously how does it compare to Creative's EAX effects and Crystallize? Or do all suck?
xjazzdummy 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2007 The best I've heard from software DSP is the Izotope Ozone and the BBE Sonic Maximizer, MP and Mach3 Bass. The Izotope Ozone has a free version that's terrific already. The paid version is not expensive too. The BBE Sonic Maximizer, MP and Mach3 Bass are the same ones inside iaudio players. So far I only know that they are available through the iaudio jetaudio player for a small price. Do some googling and you'll find the links. And SRS WOW is horrigible compared to Izotope and BBE stuff.
