anyone can give some suggestions abt my ipod connectin to speakers

recently, i have tried pluggin in my jbl speakers 'which are my old desktop speakers' into my ipod.. the speakers and ipod worked well, however, when i touched the casing of the ipod 'as u noe its metallic' i could feel a very slight electric current.. ia this a problem of over-voltage or smth and could it damage my ipod? was juz wondering.. sorry if i sound noob.. haha
