RSA Tomahawk or Hornet?

Recommended Posts

Time to update your signature man!

Hope you enjoy your new amp! :P

BTW, give it some time to run in. It makes a different from fresh out of the box. :DD

In my opinion, the Hornet is a better option if you are also into headphones.

care to explain further?

Hornet could drive those higher ohm headphones which Tomahawk cannot drive.

Hornet's bass is also stronger than Tomahawk by a abit.

Bushwacker:Thanks for lending me your Hornet last Friday at the party.

I'm the small guy with Er4s and clear custom mold.

Just wonder what are the rage of recommended headphone impedance range for Tomahawk? How high is consider too high for this little amp?

I read on the headfi that a fully ran-in tomahawk (500 hours) will have very similar sound to the Hornet... As for the comment in bass performance, which headphone are you referring to? ER4s?

I read from review or take on both the Hornet and tomahawk.

take on hornet vs. tomahawk

Hopes this helps.

I have only tried the Hornet and the Tomahawk for a while with my ER4s.

I prefer the sound from the Hornet but the size of the Tomahawk.

Well, life is always full of compromise. It would have been a no-brainer if there is a produce combining both the qualities of the hornet and tomahawk...

For portable application, the size and battery life of the tomahawk is hard to beat...

Hi, the hornet is $630 from jaben. The tomahawk is 500. The AE-2 is also 500+. Do go and audition the AE-2, its similar to the hornet.

The Beyer A1 is darn good and has very good synergy with the DT990. It automatically adjusts to the headphones' impedence. All I can say, is that the A1 is damn bloody good but darn ex too
