Mini³ group buy from AMB Audio shop

Recommended Posts

Hi adn6244,

I hope you understand that I am only organising the group buy. The support forum is officially on headwize. As for buying stuff for it in Singapore, I guess everyone involved can give advice. I will add you in and you think about it. You can still back out before you pay for it, which is in a couple of days time.

Regards.

Heady sir,

totally understand your point. I am lost when I stepped into SLT :shocking: don't know where to start and what to get. hahahha :rclxub:

To the rest of the bros who are committed to the group buy, if you are getting the rest of the components, hope you don't mind to send me a pm to start another mini group buy :helpsmilie::grin:

or point me to the place and I'll continue my DIY journey from there. :rclxms:

Ok, for the DIY newbies, here is a list of the parts for the Mini3 less the parts we are getting from AMB. The resistors are available from SLT. Similarly the capacitors, diodes and the regulators.

About the only part which we need to buy from Farnell will be the casing and the knob. If you can't go to SLT then buy everything from Farnell and if your order is more than S$30, they deliver free.

Just one word of caution if you don't want to waste money. Wait for the pcb to arrive before making your purchases. The capacitors or battery you buy may not fit into the pcb or casing. When I am making my purchases for my Mini3 (they finally shipped yesterday - yes!!) I will try to remember which shop I buy them from in SLT for you guys who are new to this.

Regards.

I have sent a PM to all the participants in the group buy re: payment. Please let me know if you did not receive this PM. Please note that the payment is your confirmation to participate and non-refundable once the order to AMB is processed by them.

Lol. No discount?

Welcome to AMB audio shop. Please use this order form to purchase parts.

A discount will be applied for items totaling over $100, $250 and $500.

Thanks ezzo for bringing this up, I forgot about this. The above is AMB's opening statement in his shop - it is obvious got discount. But I wouldn't know how much will be given before ordering as there may be last minute withdrawal etc.

So far I have made everything as transparent as possible. I was intending to send the invoice to all participants when I received it, so it will be transparent if I am profiting for this group buy. Infact, I am taking risk with paying for shipping first. So, the final payment for shipping will be less the discount.

The arrangment will be shipping amount less discount divided by the number of participants. Agreeable to all? Still can withdraw if not acceptable.

Regards

heady.

Thanks.

To the guys involved in the group buy: what are we going to do about the front and back panels? I have some confidence in soldering everything on fine, but I think that the panels are gonna be quite a pain, especially from what I read at AMB's instruction page. Firstly, I don't have precision drilling equipment. Ok sure I can probably use my father's Bosch that he uses for drilling walls but thats hardly precise.

I propose perhaps we have a group buy for the panels too?

Hmm... I ordered a set of AMB's panels, very ex. I will see if it is possible to do this in SG, in plastic though. If possible, I will try to organise the group buy. This time, I also need the panels. :)

A group buy for front panels would be great. :D

Thanks heady for organizing this PCB+parts buy. Saved me a great deal.

I second that :D

what are the other components we need to get?

maybe someone compile a list and i can help with a mini-group buy from farnell.

once the boards and components are in.. we just need to source for the front panel job..

cant wait for a finished mini3
