What are your top 5 J-pop or J-rock artists or group?

I am into a lot of music genres but at this moment, due to the influences of my cousin and some friends from M'sia and Taiwan(and not to forget, anime!), I have been into J-rock.

 

I have decided to put this topic out to see how members are into this kind of music.

 

Let's start with me, here are my top 5(not in any order):

 

1) L'arc En Ciel

 

2) X-Japan

 

3) Kiyoharu

 

4) Gackt

 

5) Hyde(The lead singer of L'arc En Ciel, when performing solo)

i still very much in love with j-pop these days. Watching too many animes while overseas working brought my j-pop passion back. My personal fav not in order(too difficult to order them)

 

1. Zard--sadly no more music from Zard,

 

2. Judy and Mary----yuki went solo last i heard

 

3. Mayo Okamoto------Dunno if she still around

 

4. SPEED---Does anyone still remembers them?

 

and last but not least, the one and only,

 

5. X-JAPAN

 

above are the ones from the 90s, though i really like the 80s j-pop too like Anzen Chitai, Southern All Stars and Chage & Aska.

How can 'Glay'be left out?My all time fv They are great in rock,slow ballad & have got a great sense of humour?They held the biggest concert in japan history with a audience of 200thousand ppl.But that was abt 8yrs ago keke.

 

upon seeing this thread remind me of the time i was crazy abt jrock & jap stuff,i was also working in japanese company abt 10years ago.That time j rock still not so popular,somtime have to buy import cd from tower records at pacific tower which cost a bomb of 40plus-50plus per cd.my pocket always got burn whenevr i go there to shop
