DENON AH-C551K-Where to buy?

Recommended Posts

it is that good?

i bet a sf3 will own it.

I don't know about that but the reviews I read about it were mostly positive. I'm interested in it for it's overall performance as well as design, short/long cord length, price, etc. :)

There's a store at Century Square selling the C551k and various other Denon in-ears. I think the price is around $150, but not sure if very accurate.

I think the shop is next to the Nokia store at CS.

Thanks but a bit far from where I am in Woodlands but will check it out if I'm in the area. :)

I'II suggest you to try out the Ultimate Ears 3 studio. Single amature driver normally gives good and accurate presentation. I believe the Denon is using a dynamic driver. Though dynamic drivers can cover a wider range, amature drivers sound more precise and detailed. That's why TOP earphones manufacturers like westone, Shure or Ety's flagship are always using amature drivers.

hi dragonboy, i thought that dynamic drivers and armature drivers are quite different creatures altogether. like oranges and apples. curious which dynamic phones you've used before?

Used to own the dynamic drivers like the good old MDR-E888 ( used them abt 10 yrs ago ) , CK7 , EM700 , my friend's broken down mylar.... none seems to offer the separation, and soudstaging. Instruments like guitar and violin wasn't as detailed and accurate. Vocals doesn't sound as clear and open.

Dynamic drivers tend to cover a very wide range like General Practitioners. Whereas amature drivers are like Specialists.... Very detail and accurate in they're specific range. So normally you may require dual drivers to to cover the lows and highs.

My present earphones are Ety 4p + I-QUBE amp. Though not as good as headphones, they're the closest to my preference for portability.
