zhang_junyang 0 Report post Posted March 3, 2008 Hi, I hope to get some advice on how to wire up my cable to the connectors. I bought some canare 4s6 cables and 3.5mm and RCA plugs. I would like to make some 3.5mm to 3.5mm, 3.5mm to RCA and RCA to RCA cable assemblies. The canare 4s6 cables are star quad (4 conductors) with a shield around. For the 3 kinds of cable assemblies, what are the recommended best ways in which I should solder the cable to the connectors? For example, for the 3.5mm to RCA, I thought of soldering 2 conductors to the ground and 1 conductor each to the left and right signal and leave the shield floating on the 3.5mm side, while on the RCA side, I will solder the ground and signal conductors to their respective plugs and the shield is still floating.
