Haha! Yeah a HD800 would cover all the new to-of the-lines from the manufacturers.

 

To think I was looking to try it today. Oh well. Will still need to visit Aaron for the Headband.

 

Btw, I noticed you changed your PS1000 to Jmoney Audio Headbands already. Is the stock headband not that thick?

 

Lastly, since you pulled them out of the store so early, we need impressions. Lol!

 

It would be interestin how it would go up against its older brother the PS1. =)

I'll skip the HD800 partly due to the limitation of my amp. It not an easy cans to drive. And the build is not as solid as the other two flagship.

 

PS1000 use very good quality smooth leather for it's headband. Glossy and slightly more padded, different from the rest of Grado. It's nice that they pay attention to this for their new flagship as their normal headband is not happening for me. Of course Jmoney Audio with it's big and heavily padded headband is better thought leather quality is different.

 

Actually I'm a little disappointed with it out of the box. Bass is boomy and uncontrolled. BUT after an hour, . I'll let it burn in for some time before giving any impression. What I can say now is it reminds me of PS1 with a bigger soundstage. It worth the wait and cost.
