evil-zen 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Recently I listened to one of their albums The Wall and to say the least, they are genius! Tried Meddle too and its not too bad either. However I had Dark Side of the Moon for quite sometime already but I don't get it. Seems like another album with weird sounds incoporated into the music. Everyone says that Dark side is their best album but I don't quite agree yet. If you haven't heard of pink floyd before, its time to check them out.
jtfoo 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I like "Wish you were here" best.. Excellent musicianship on 'shine on your crazy diamonds'. I like 'dark side of the moon' 2nd. Try to listen to "time" for Dave Gilmour's haunting guitar solo... excellent..
El Scorcho 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Hmm, didn't know this forum also contained views on music. I'm not exactly a Pink Floyd fan, but I heard Sparklehorse do a remake of Wish You Were Here... breathtaking.
N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 You should try listening to David Gilmour's solos on a tube amp! Incredible tone. I have to state the obvious here, I like The Wall expecially Just another brick. If you'd like a variation, try Roger Waters The Wall Live in Berlin.
evil-zen 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 One question, are all of pink floyd's album well remastered? DSOTM is pretty good. Remastered in 1992. Beatles CD on the other hand sounds sh*tty.

N@Z 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I'm a little confused with the SACD remasters. How do tell whether they are SACD as last time I saw the rolling stones remasters there doesn't seem to be any major indicators. Dohhh...
Audio 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I'm a little confused with the SACD remasters. How do tell whether they are SACD as last time I saw the rolling stones remasters there doesn't seem to be any major indicators. Dohhh... Hee hee, You can tell that this is a SACD because:- (1) It cost more..... (2) It normally comes with a plastic binder over the jewel case, (3) There seems to be a standard SACD casing which is different from the conventional CD. (4) The SACD symbol is quite prominient at most times... (5) Retailers tends to group their SACD and DVD-Audio on different shelves.
