  1. For sale is my Apogee Big Ben Master Clock. It looks like new and has been kept in a humidity controlled home-theater-like environment (same as the other things I have for sale right now) where it's never even seen direct sunlight. Because of the environment in which it's used, there's no oxidation on the contacts/connectors either. All nice and shiny! It filters out jitter from your source before sending it to your DAC, DEQ or whatever you have downstream of it. I use it as a convenient and high quality digital switch too so as to minimize jitter. If you have multiple DACs and multiple sources like I do, it's very convenient and at the same time, ensures that quality of your ADC or DACs are optimised. It cost me over $2k when new. I'm letting it go for SG$845 or US$603 (negotiable) or at a discount if purchased with any other the other things I currently have on sale. (see below) If you have further questions like how you might be able to use it in your system, please contact me and I'm very glad to share my knowledge! Love talking about this stuff anyway! CONTACT INFO.: Remember to contact me if you'd like to chat about hi-fi stuff or how you plan to link this up to your system! I'm an enthusiast and would gladly share my knowledge. If you're in Singapore (+65), SMS me at 8123-9701. You can also get me at gmail with username "pureiridium" if you're overseas. OTHER ITEMS FOR SALE: 1. 2. Update of 2016.03.01: Temporary Price Drop! Now lowered from US$2018 to US$1827!!! Greetings! This is quite a professional piece of equipment so if you don't already know about it, I can't really explain it all in this post! However, if you need to know more, please contact me. Details are lower down. In a nutshell though, it's a portable digital recorder that professionals use to record from anything really... You can use it to digitize your Vinyl collection, record direct PCM digital from CDs, DVDs, YouTube and other online sources, record from microphone direct and so on... It will also record up to 4 channels simultaneously (up to two different stereo sources) at up to 192kHz and to up to 3 different media simultaneously (Internal HDD, SD Card & External Attached HDD) just in case one fails. You can also link it to more Sound Devices recorders if you want to record more than just 4 channels simultaneously! (Eg.: Connect another 744T or a 702T to add another 4 or 2 channels respectively and you can daisy chain more units if you want 12, 10 or however many channels!) You can also just use it for it's DACs or headphone amp which has a powerful, warm and forgiving sound! All that can be done on battery power alone and off the noisy power grid! Or take it with you on holiday or to a friend's house etc... See the Stereophile review of the baby 722 model: http://www.stereophi...qTXQg2EYW5GE.97 They liked it enough to give it a class A rating and continue to do so till today: http://www.stereophi...JEo6aEO09GTI.97 Product Webpage is here: http://www.sounddevi.../recorders/744t In case you don't know how Sound Devices nomenclature works, the 722 is a two-channel recorder/one stereo source only and can record to both HDD and Flash) and has no temperature controlled precision clocking. The 702 is the same but can record to only CF Card. It has no internal HDD. The 702T is the same as that but with that precision clocking. So the 744T is the daddy within the class and can do 4 channels to both internal HDD, CF and has precision clocking too. I would say that if you're an audio nut, then you'll be like me and have more than one DAC and that's where the 744T can also be used as a system to easily output to two DACs. Needless to say, it's an entire system in one with its own ADCs, DACs, HDD for storing files/music, headphone amp, reference-level oven/temperature-controlled master clock (which itself would cost a few $k on its own), XLR inputs and outputs and more! It's pretty much the industry standard for field recorders for music and especially the film and tv industry. If somehow you don't like the built-in ADCs, then add one your own (or two) to the 744T and get it to record digital-in only. Don't like the built-in DACs? Then add one of your own at the digital outputs. You can add two and use the unit as a source switcher as well. Route the analogue/digital inputs and outputs however you wish! The unit is with Sound Devices (in the US) for refurbishing/upgrading to meet latest specs now so when you buy it, it will come like new with their support should anything go wrong! It looks like new too and becasue I'm not actually a field professional but a home enthusiast, the unit has never been abused or brought outdoors! Most other units on sale will have quite literally been brought out into the field, bounced about and seen direct sunlight and so on... This unit will easily handle a tough environment though and its reputation is outstanding. All that stuff doesn't come cheap however and its built-in ADCs, DACs and masterclock are not run-of-the-mill things. A new unit will set you back around US$4300 new or SG$6000. I'm offering it for sale at US$2100 or SG$2910 (negotiable slightly) or at a discount if purchased with some of my other things for sale below: CONTACT INFO.: Remember to contact me if you'd like to chat about hi-fi stuff or how you plan to link this up to your system! I'm an enthusiast and would gladly share my knowledge. If you're in Singapore (+65), SMS me at 8123-9701. You can also get me at gmail with username "pureiridium" if you're overseas. OTHER THINGS FOR SALE: 1. Bel Canto DAC3 (http://www.echoloft....&num=1456826788 OR http://www.head-fi.o...llent-condition) 2. Bel Canto PRe3 Pre-Amplifer. [sold] (http://www.echoloft....&num=1449887733 OR http://www.head-fi.o...3-pre-amplifier) 3. Apogee Big Ben Master Clock (used as my digital front-end to clean out jitter and as well as to function as a switch between my various equilisers and DACs. (http://www.echoloft.....pl?board=hifi action=display&num=1456826962) Even more detailed info on the particular unit itself: Long story short, the unit is like new basically because it's currently with Sound Devices (it's been with them for a while now) and when you buy it, it will come direct from them (if you're in CONUS) with their usual great customer service and support should the unit not be functioning properly and so on... It originally went back to SD for faulty two metering LEDs (as shown in the pictures. It's a common problem in the first few hours of use from the sheer number of LEDs the thing has. After a few bad LEDs are replaced, it won't likely re-occur again.) and at the same time, they also replaced and upgraded a bunch of things to make it up to spec with a new unit. So what you're buying here is basically a refurbished unit straight from the Sound Devices! I will also cover all shipping costs if you're in CONUS. The unit has no cosmetic damage at all and because I'm not a profesional (more of a home hi-fi user), the thing has never been fielded and was only used for its clocking and as an ADC/DAC. If you do decide to buy the unit, the only trouble you have to put up though is with communications and payment! Once a sale is agreed, I will: 1. Put the buyer in a 3-way e-mail loop (between me, Sound Devices CS & you the buyer). That way you can be sure that the unit is really with them and that this ain't no scam. Then: 2a. I will need the buyer to pay Sound Devices direct for the works/parts/services and shipping -whatever needed for them to send the unit off to reach you, the buyer. (Alternatively, you if for any reason you would prefer to pay to only once party, then you can pay me the full sum via Paypal. In that case, skip 2b. and go straight to step 3.) 2b. I said I will absorb the shipping cost so whatever the buyer pays to Sound Devices, take that sum and minus that from the agreed sales price. Paypal me that balance. (Alternatively as mentioned in 2a above, you if for any reason you would prefer to pay to only once party, then you can pay me the full sum via Paypal.) 3. Once I receive the funds, I will then send the "all-clear" e-mail to Sound Devices and they'll go ahead and send the unit to the buyer. 4. Finally, the AC adaptor, Firewire filter, manual and battery are with me so I'll send that over to the buyer for free too. (I'm located in Singapore). Clear as mud? Just e-mail me! CONTACT: gmail. My username is pureiridium. I can chat about anything you want to know about the unit, how it might fit into your system etc or just shoot the breeze about audio in general! If you're concerned about my lack of activity on these forums, also be aware that I am also a long-time member on Head-Fi and CandlePowerForums.com and am known as "Flea Bag" on those forums. I've done thousands of dollars worth of flashlight sales at CPF especially, so I hope that and the verification from Sound Devices personnel that the recorder is with them is enough for you to feel comfortable about buying from me! If that still doesn't do it, contact me and we'll work out something out! Really! Is a chunk of money we're talking about here, so I can understand if you want extra verification! 3. For Sale is my beloved Bel Canto DAC3. 2016.03.01 Update: Price temporarily lowered from SG$1200 to SG$1100... Note: There were some guys who have contacted me regarding this unit a few months ago, but I was uncertain about selling it at the time and have lost your contact numbers! If you see this and are still interested, please get back to me at (SMS) 8123-9701... Thanks... It looks like new and has been kept in a humidity controlled home-theater-like environment (same as the other things I have for sale right now) where it's never even seen direct sunlight. Have the original box, remote and everything that you'd get if bought new and because of the environment in which it's used, there's no oxidation on the contacts/connectors either. All nice and shiny! This thing was reference grade when it came out and definitely more pleasant sounding than many run-of-the-mill Sabre-based DACs. It sounds neutral but yet musical and smooth, which is something a lot of DACs these days may have difficulty doing. Read the Stereophile review to see how well it measures too, even by recent standards! You can upgrade it to a "VB" version, but you'll get a slightly more unforgiving sound and might even lose a bit of musicality. Read the review to see that the VB may not necessarily measure better. I really think this is the sweet spot of Burr Brown DACs. Latest doesn't mean best! I listen to a lot of 80s and some modern stuff too and it has never got harsh or sibilant and has just a tiny bit of warmth that is characteristic of the Bel Canto house-sound. It's very versatile too with balanced and unbalanced outputs and a range of inputs and can function as a pre-amp as well! However, to get best resolution, I would recommend you using it with a analogue preamp like the matching PRe3 which I also have for sale at the moment. This thing cost well over $3k when new and I'm letting it go for now at SG$1100 (US$786)! 4. Needed to update this... Package was sold on August 26th! Thank you all for your inquiries!
  5. Greetings! [Note: Please see the "Feedback & Past Sales" section below to see my past sales records] For sale is my classic HD600 package plus the now rare Oehlbach cable! This is the no-longer-produced black silk-screened version which has a slightly darker and warmer sound (and to my ears, is slightly more bassy as a result) than the metal-screened version. Also keep in mind that lots of the more experienced and prominent head-fiers who still praise the HD600 are likely to have based their past impressions on this earlier version of the phone. Admittedly though, differences between the old and new are not huge. Besides the usual stuff like the box with serial number sticker, papers and stock cable, I've also included a new pair of foam pads as well as a new pair of ear pads/cushions which themselves also include another pair of foam pads in the packet... (see pictures) Both are original parts from Sennheiser and are unused or sealed, respectively. They did not come cheap, but I'm including them in the package. The benefit of this is that you can hear what the HD600 sounds like with worn-in pads and compare them to how they sound with the new pads which will not yet have softened and which will therefore place the drivers further from your ears and thus producing a different balance of sound. Best of both worlds! Also included is an Oehlbach cable that will fit the HD600/650. This cable is rare and was available through Dr. Jan Meier of Meier Audio and when compared to the competition back then (Cardas, Equinox etc...), it was described as easily being a match for them or just a matter of taste as to which you preferred. It definitely opens up the sound-stage and produces a smoother sound than the stock cable. However, the stock cable has more grain and is more closed-in or intimate sounding, so it's again a matter of taste. The cable is in good condition though some of the gold plating from the 1/4 inch TRS connector has worn off, but this will not affect sound quality and there is no oxidation or anything of that sort. It was one of the best cables you could get for your HD600s. Don't know why production of it stopped. As for the phones themselves: This was my first open-ended-headphone purchase and has been lovingly cared for. However, some of the black paint on the grills has been worn off due to me often using the headphone while lying on a pillow. My guess is that the cloth of the pillow rubbing against the grills caused some abrasion or enough friction to rub some of the black paint off. (See pictures) A black marker will easily disguise the missing black paint on the grills and it's just a matter of time before such grills suffer from paint wearing off anyway so you might as well let me suffer the financial loss and sell them to you for cheap or you could buy new grills if it bothers you that much! That brings me to the next good thing about the HD600 that you may already know: It's fully modular and anything that wears out or degrades can easily be replaced (even by the user) unlike some competing phones like the Philips X1 or similar. Other than that though, it's in excellent condition and has no dents and has suffered no impacts or anything of that sort. The HD600s are built to last and in this package, you have everything you need to keep it that way. The drivers themselves have also never been abused because I listen at relatively low volumes and only about once a week even when I first got them due to time constraints. I haven't been listening to them for the past few years though and so I'm putting them up for sale. I'm only selling them because I prefer a very dark sound, but the HD600 is still my best all-rounder phone and very easy to enjoy across multiple genres. One of may favourite 'fun' partnerships with the 600s is with an 18V bass-boosted cMoyBB V2.03 from JDS Labs. Not the most neutral, but bloody fun, with a full sound and a more punchy bass than my reference LCD-2 rig! Definitely a more lively, yet neutral combo than the HD650 IMHO. Shipping: I'm located in Singapore, but am willing to ship overseas and might even subsidize some of the shipping cost. Please contact me for a quote [update: NOW SHIPPING FOR FREE TO CONUS, UK, MOST PARTS OF EUROPE, ASIA PACIFIC ETC! E-mail me if you want confirmation!] or if you have any more questions to ask like my impressions or if you'd just like to learn more about the hobby! I'd be glad to help. Contact: It's best to e-mail me at gmail where my user-name is "pureiridium". If you're in Singapore, you can also reach me on my mobile at 8123-9701. Feedback & Past Sales: Finally, if you're worried about my lack of feedback, well it's because I've not really sold anything on Head-Fi before. At least not that I can remember! At this point, I've just been hoarding stuff in my more than 10 years on these forums and so it's time I sell some stuff. I go under the same user name at CandlePowerForums.com have done thousands of dollars of sales over there. My past sales threads there are as linked below. Besides the user name being the same, you can see that the contact e-mail address at those sales threads is the same as listed in this sales thread. To be extra sure, please e-mail me anyway as that is preferable to PMs: http://www.cpfmarket...p-Polarion-PH50 http://www.cpfmarket...&highlight=isgp http://www.candlepow...f-M61N-SHO-ISGP http://www.cpfmarket...-anywhere!-ISGP http://www.candlepow...ted-isgp-214151 Other Items for Sale: I also have a pair of -10dB RCA Rothwell Attenuators: http://www.head-fi.o...ldwide-shipping If you've got a source that puts out too high a voltage or an amp which has too much gain, something like this is what you need.
