Absolute0 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 The Panasonic SL CT570 seems to have quite a reputation at head-fi. Not to forget those in Duncan's Review.

N@Z 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 That is a good deal assuming there's not problems with the unit itself & comes with the remote. All other accessories are not as important.
augustineRS 0 Report post Posted November 4, 2003 btw any1 seen this auction b4? http://page.auctions.shopping.yahoo.com/sg...79?aucview=0x23 straying off topic abit.
Mackie 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 (edited) I have settled on CT790 after a futile search for the same sound quality of my old Sony D-777 amongst the current Sony range. Why futile? 777s just smash them to bits until I encountered Panasonic CT790. This unit has a more open and transparent sound. Although bass kick is not as good as D777, I can't complain for it carries a "Class 1 Laser Product" peg and beautifully constructed. It cost me less than $250 at Jade Gift Shop, Shaw Tower, Beach road. Edited November 5, 2003 by Mackie
N@Z 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 It looks vaguely like the Sony D-EJ955... Does the Pana has a lin-out & optical out?
av98m 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 I own the CT790 myself. Pretty nice, with an optical line-out. Paid $190 for it.
kenshinz 0 Report post Posted November 5, 2003 I got the CT700 for $175. Shucks....If I knew the CT790 could be had for $190, would have gotten it instead , at least it has backlit remote and nimh batteries. Anyway, the Panasonic CT700 to CT800 series are all made in Japan. Mine got a bit of problem thot.. dunno if its the disc or player.. when I use to play MP3s, some of the tracks skips pretty badly... this usually happens to the last few songs on the disc or last couple folders on the disc
