  1. I have not visited the forum in years, so hi all. I am looking for someone who can provide recabling services for my Alessandro MS1. I haven't had the time to do it myself so if anyone is keen, please let me know. I do not want anything fancy, just a decent cable job is required. Yes, even canare star quad cables qualify. Contact me at 90484851 or email at irwannmazlan@gmail.com if you are keen and we will discuss payment.

  3. I have not touched my Xenos amp for 3-4 months already. Yesterday when i tried it back again, there was a major problem. There was no sound on the right channel. It gives off this very low 'wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow' frequency while the left channel is still alright. How did this happen? How can i fix this? Where can i get it fixed? Any help would be good. Thanks.
  4. Hello guys, i have not been posting for quite some time now. Regarding the mylars with amp, they sound great. I am using a xenos 0HA-RHP and the sound quality is enhanced a lot compared to my MS1. The bass quantity and quality gets almost as close as the MS1, only less impact, which is ok since all IEMs are like that. The mids and highs are improved slightly(audible) , but the bass is more prominent.
  5. Hey there people. I need some advice on a portable amp to suit my Alessandro MS1. Budget is less than $100.
  6. ES 7 is good alright, but some people complains about the bass that the impact is not so powerful. Nonetheless, if you'd like to try go ahead.\ In the ES 7 price range, the best are sr80 or ms1 if you're talking about open air headphones. If you don't mind the leakage of these phones, its will be your gods. HAHA. And one advice, if you like bass, then go for headphones. They give you this surreal feeling of surround sound, unlike Iems.
  7. Anyone here can tell me how the MS-1 fares with the ES7? Thx
  8. Any one here can give a review between the mylar and the DTX-50?
  9. Why not....... Put it in a case?
  10. HAH? your comparing soundstage between IEMs and Headphones? I feel that mylars have very poor soundstage, as with every other IEM. I've tried the MS2, SR60 and both sound so far away in terms of sound stage.
  11. I'd say all IEMS have poor sound stage, and wearing a headphones will impress you because you get the enormous 3d effect. Haha. Even if the Iem and the headphones do have similar sound in terms of EQ, a headphone would still sound better for the soundstage factor.
  12. I said USUALLY, not all. It really depends on the sound signature of the brands. I find Creative bass is much more prominent. For me, the Etys are more balanced and more into clarity. If you are too used to bass heavy phones, you may fing the etys lacking in bass with more prominent mids and highs. The westones, focus more on the mids. Its all up to your preference. i like a balanced and clear sound.
  13. Yeah. They're cheap and sound pretty good to me. Better than a lot of IEMs that are in the <$150 price range. I find the Mylars bass tight and adequate, at least for me. If you are used to listening music that have lotsa bass, go for the Mylarone XBs. I've been to stereo john (like dozen of times), and i live <1km away from Causeway Point. Normally i just go there to look around, but i've never auditioned some phones over there. I know the range of products is whoa. But do they let you test all of them? VI6R0KU, i have the EP630 and the mylars sound much better in terms of clarity, mids, highs and tighter bass. If you like bass, go fot the EP630. If you want clarity, go for the mylars. I don't have the ATH-CK7, so i don't know.
  14. Nofing gets my point. Balanced armature driver USUALLY doesn't over emphasize a specific sound spectrum. i mean balanced armature drivers sound more balanced compared to dynamic drivers. A lot of dynamic drivers emphasize on a specific sound spectrum, say the creative EP630 which emphasizes a lot on the bass, making them sound kinda boomy and muddy. Then again, i heard that if there are 2 or more balanced armature drivers in an IEM, the sound becomes different unlike single balanced armature drivers. Like the UM2s, the bass sounds really big compared to the UM1. I think it is due to the dedicated dual balanced armature drivers where 1 produces the lows, and the other produde the mids and highs. "However, multiple-driver earphones tend to have the problems of inaccurate spacing and emphasis in the bass department, thus losing some fidelity. This is compensated by a couple of technologies, such as routing a balanced armature to handle a dedicated range of notes, utilizing a specialized port (or air duct) to allow air to flow through the armature for increased efficiency, and utilizing inline crossovers to ensure accurate reproduction of high, mid, and low notes to rectify these weaknesses." -- quote from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/headphones about balanced armature drivers. Whatever it is, both driver technologies have their pros and cons. I don't know if this is true, but i've heard somewhere in the forums that stated that balanced armature and mylar drivers are prone to humidity. Is this true?
  15. Cheap IEMs use dynamic transducers (<$150). These include all ATH-CK(1,5,6,7) models except for ATH-CK9, which is using balanced armatures drivers. I also think Shure's E2 uses dynamic drivers. The Westone UM1 uses Balanced Armatures. Other expensive (>$300) IEMs use 2 or more balanced armature drivers, like the triple.fi and UM2s. Iem refers to In-ear-monitors. Unlike typical earphones, they sit in the ear canal, providing an excellent seal that cancels out 25db-40db of ambient noises. That is, if you get a good seal. The noise cancelling far surpasses a lot of noise cancelling headphones (normally 10-25db) of ambient noises. There are also much portable unlike headphones. P.S. IEMs doesn't ruin your hairdo and specs. A lot of dynamic drivers usually have either more mids, lows or highs. Balanced armatures produce sound that is almost balanced with no extras of highs, mids or lows. The cheapest dynamic driver that has an almost balanced sound would be the Mylarone X3s. Don't go for wireless. They use extra batteries to power themselves up. Waste money only. If it goes weak, you can't listen to it anymore.
