  1. Another Sun Flower Taken last year. Here I tried to make a nice pic with a very simple composition What I tried to show here is definitely not the composition, but how PS trick can make the flower 'pops out' from the background, and the dynamic range adjustment that makes the petals looks lively I used G2, as you know, with small sensor I couldn't get a blur background. In the original pic, the background is sharp and very distracting. If I use large aperture, the flower is not very sharp. Thanks to PS, for this kind of pic, where the color of the object is different than the background, it is easy to seperate the background and the main object. I use channel mixer to seperate the background from the main object. For the background, I apply gaussian blur and box blur, and then darken it with blending option 'multiply'. For the main object, I just apply a little bit of contrast with blending option 'soft light' and sharphen it. After that, flatten the image... then enjoy the picture... Here is the original without touch up:
  2. Thanks All! I don't have specific workflow, just follow my feeling Just the rule of thumb, sharpening always the last step. PS CS2 has additional feature to reduce highlight and brighten shadow. But usually I use 'screen' to increase brightness and use 'soft light' (a little bit) to add contrast and color saturation... to add some punch of the picture I normally never bring tripod with me, the shot was made under a very bright sunny day (this morning), so can get a high shutter speed... (the blur one I don't post lah.. ) Cheers!
  3. Excellent touch up Barradio!!! N@Z, very good lens!!! Can see from the result Here is from my cheapo compact, ixus-i
  4. 1st good exposure! Good balance for shadow and highlight
  5. Nice silhouette kenshinz Excellent pics Blues I like the third and the fourth!!! Very nice blue sky ! Been away for sometime, here is a postcard from my home at Jakarta
  6. Never heard Alessandro, but I do like SR80 It has the RS-1 color, only less resolution and refined sound of the RS-1. But for common ears, the difference is little. So for the price and sound, I highly recommend SR-80 My2Cents
  7. Looks very interesting Don't mind share the headwize link and more information
  8. For Neutrik fans (like me) you can go to SLS, Coastal at 3rd floor (same floor as hungbros). They are selling at cheaper price
  9. Don't supply too high voltage. 3 volts higher is enough. If your first stage is 18V, give it's input around 21-22V (rectified 16 volts AC from the transformer secondary).
  10. Good luck! Happy backpacking!
  11. Dedicated ground plane! That's cool! Your RCA connector looks nice, may I know, brand, place to buy, and price please? Thanks!

  13. Merging multiple exposure, might be usefull to know how to do it http://image24.webshots.com/25/1/0/57/40310057litAPW_fs.jpg
  14. Hi Tropical, the first pic is interestingly artistic! Nice shot! But it has to be a part of a series of fotos, cannot stand by its own.
  15. Love the last pic Welldone! Can open stand in Singapore immigration for passport pics
  16. We can set a small 'Gillmore' torture test meeting When will you finish your exam? Digi, will it improve the sound if you add the transistor output
  17. Nice pics Tropical Can make PC wallpaper to keep us fresh
  18. Tropical has transformed into Nikonites
  19. Naz started taking babes pics I agree with Heady, focus on the water drop, frame it without any distracting background, try to use 2 different color of lamp on both side, without flash
  20. Wow, very nice macro shots Firefox ! Dunno what bug is that. Tropical, with distracting background as HDB, probably you can just shoot some part of the H-D in close up My2cents For bikes, try lower angle and wider lens to give a more "wow" perspective My3rd cents
  21. Thanks Rameish ! Qoo, I purposely set it a bit over contrasty to exaggerate the thorns of the leaves, to give the 'ouch' feel Nice pics Heady, thanks for sharing! You made me want to go there
  22. Try to find the pattern Curves, straight lines, any interesting pattern, and of course, keep it simple
  23. Yes Tropical, nice flower! A bit over saturated red color makes the petal's details gone, but that can be fixed if you shoot RAW Come on guys, no more zoom vs. prime debate please I just said, for super mini camera, which lens is very small, space is very limited, normally the one with zoom lens doesn't perform very well. But the one with fixed lens can give very good result. In the case for DSLR, everything is different. Some zoom lens can perform better than fix. For example, Canon 17-40L mm perform better than the Canon 20 mm fix lens.
