    i am not any shi fu here but i would say..by using a cheap cdp like mine,i compared to imod,diymod,DAC with music ripped from original CDs..i still find that my cheap CDP with the orginal CDs sound better on the overall..less to say if you go to turntable later on..

     

    DAC wise,i still believe that even though you ripped the CDs at 1411 WAV format and run through the DAC,i still find that it dun touch the sound of the CDP with original CDs

    Hi, you are not the first one to say this. But there are also others with the opposite opinion. Me, I wonder what is the technical difference between the output from the CDP and the output from say FLAC format. To be honest, I listen to music mostly from my notebook now, through a DAC and Foobar2000. It is too much trouble to switch CDs. Plus my home and work place table don't have enough space for all the hardware needed.

     

    Hmm, maybe when I have time, I will do a AB comparison.

    Hi Yotiao, welcome back.

    I like the second pic best. The details in the fur and whiskers are very nice. And you managed to do backlighting to highlight the fur. Nice lighting and nice details = great picture.

     

    The cat doesn't look uncooperative, maybe a little indifferent but cats are like that, aren't they?

    Yes, Four Seasons is very near Orchard Road. I recommend you go to Plaza Singapura which is at the other end of Orchard Road and visit Stereo Electronics where you can actually audition the headphones you may be interested in. I am not sure if they have the models you specified above though.

    i dont need the exactly same part. just one that will fit the socket on the curcuit board. any shops to recommend in simlim tower?

    It all depends whether you want the exact parts and want them on the pcb. If so, then you just have to buy the parts from mouser. Or try look for them at Koba Electronics.

     

    If you don't mind having short connectors from the jacks, then you should be able to find substitutes in Sim Lim.

    Please take ALL our advice with a grain of salt. Do yourself a favour and go down to Stereo Electronics or Jaben and try out as many of the phones mentioned to see which you will like.

     

    We all have different taste in sound quality, what I like, you may not like. So the best judge will be your own ears.

    Hi,

    Dare not answer you at first, as not sure myself. If I were you, I would try level 3 of Sim Lim Tower. There is one shop which is run by two ladies and a man, which is opposite a repair shop. The people in this shop is quite friendly and I try to get stuff from them.

     

    The repair shop is always full of men (my age and looking like me... :) ), listening to music from tube amps.

    Although all the rules were already in place before I was appointed a mod especially to keep the Classifieds clean, I support the 50 post requirement. And I also agree with the posts that say these 50 posts should be constructive and not frivolous, especially not spam.

     

    The rationale for the requirements to post WTS is to give this privilege to only those who have contributed to the forum. It is a privilege and not a right. And we earn it by contributing to the community.

    Thanks blackmouth0. We will see if the other moderators have similar opinions.

     

    I hope the forum will approve what I did, after giving the matter some thoughts. I deleted all his posts and change his post count to 1. If I could just delete his spam, I would have done it but unfortunately the controls are not fine enough.

     

    I think this forum's members are mostly mature and constructive. If new members cannot fit in with the culture, then they probably shouldn't join us. There are other forums which are more free-wheeling and less moderated where these people can have the freedom to post whatever they want. Thanks to nofing for this last comment.

    Casing still on order from RS, so the y2 is still naked.
