  1. Hi all, I am relatively new to the audio world, but I have always been wanting to get a portable system for my room and private listening. My portable rig is currently an Ipod 4Gen 20GB with Shure E3C. I guess that should be pretty much settled. Now I am looking to settle my room rig. I do have a Senn PX200. Types of music I listen to: Rock, Pop, R&B, Retro, Electronics, Techno, a bit of Jazz (trying to listen to that). Budget: S$500-S$1,000 Things that I am looking for is total isolation from the outside world and only my music when I get back from work. Any comments on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  2. Thanks for your reply. 1) Sound quality - must not be too bassy (thumping bass) and can't totally be without any bass. Also listen to songs with lotsa stringed instruments (acoustics). So I guess clarity but not to the point that it is not dynamic. Would the E3C be enough? As for the other points, I alreday know about that. I previously used earbuds supplied by Apple and also a Senn PX200. I travel a lot on the MRT and buses, so I am looking for something that can get all the outside noise away without being too bulky.
  3. If I change my current format of 128Kbps MP3 songs in iTunes to the AAC (320Kbps) format, would there be any loss in the quality during the conversion?
  4. Are the E5's really that good, cos I am seriously considering to get me a pair for my Ipods. Have e-mailed to Idealsounds since last week for their price but no reply yet. I listen to a variety of songs, except classical, trance and gangsta rap. Would they be suitable?
  5. Just get the E5C's I am serioulsy seriously contemplating getting these babies. Supposed to be better than the Ety4P's and everything. But dunno if it is worth that hefty price tag it comes with.
  6. Same problem here my friend. You could check this link out. IMHO it's one of the more comprehensive and detailed comparisons that I found. http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=shure BTW, if you decide to get the E3C let me know. Maybe we can get it cheaper. As for auditioning, I don't think any shops in SLS allow that because of health reasons. Moreover, I think due to the price they do not keep extra stock for these babies. Happy reading.
  7. Prices got revised. Please check again. Thanks.

    my shure e3c

Is that including shipping? What about the credit card exchange rate? Is it higher than the bank rates?
  9. Where did you get the Shure and how is it with the Ipod? Which format do you encode your songs in? 4G 20Gb Ipod user. Previously 2nd Gen 10Gb Ipod user. Recently upgraded. Now looking for the "perfect" cans to complement this beauty. Comparing bet the E3Cs and the Ety's. Dunno if shld wait for the 6i's to come out though. But comparing with the fit kit and the number of dealers it looks like the Shures are in the lead. Any comments?
  10. Do you know how high the exchange rate for credit card goes or the rates are the same as bank rates?
  11. Hi there, How about the warranty with these? Is it 2 years as in Shure's website?
