  1. Thanks for all your meaningful and constructive advices and insights. The purpose of posting this is not so much of personal sulking over some unhappy events here at DIY thread. It serve more for newbies, or anyone just started out in DIY'ing. Hope that i'll be the last victim and hope that everyone be aware of such unethical methods. I'm not upset about the fact of him selling me the samples(if he pointed out the fact that he got it as sample to sell me, i'll still buy from him as i'm very eager to build my amp), but I'm disgusted that he acted in "kindness" and offered me help in my questions initially, and pretended to selling me at a lost, in order to help me out in my headamp project. Honestly speaking, compare to so many hobbies i hav, sadly, in audio, I encountered the most percentage of 'jokers', scammers, bossy , showoffs , barbaric characters, perticularly in a prominent local HiFi forum "E......t". You'll be flamed wickedly in conspiracies for any post. But i really enjoy this forum and most people here for their help and civilized attitute. Shake Head...
  2. Moderator- I'm not too sure if this shld be under this thread, but i think it's more applicable here, as the matter pertain to DIY matters. Anyway, you are free to move this shld the situation requires. ********************************** It happened just recently to me. Hope that any potential DIY'er can be aware of such person(s) presence and methods he uses in this site! The story goes like this:- I wanted to build a headamp desperatedly and posted some msg asking for help in buying the chip(a particular op-amp). Soon, a "kind-soul" (a forum regular) replied to me saying he can sell me a few ( his extra)at a cheaper than listed price, but it still expensive to me. Needless to say, i met him and pass him the money and happily, I went back thinking that this person must be very kind to sell me at a lost, to help me start my headamp project. Later, i was disgusted to find out that he got the chips as samples free and sell them at a little lower price to me, making some quick profit and at same time winning my sincere gratitute. I should have suspected something judging from him happy expression. My subsequent emails (asking about DIY stuff) went unreplied, and totally ignored. You know who you are, if you still have a conscience, stop doing all this thing. Hope i'm your last victim! --------------------------------------- DIY'ing is a very enjoyable hobby!
  3. Charlotte Church used to sound like an angel and shock the world with her voice before she turns into a b*tch!
  4. "G3 live " is one of the best. I've wanted to get the DVD version of it . I can really feel the "live" experience. Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Yngwie kicks some major arse! "Audiophile Bossa Voices"-15 brazilian love tracks. "The Best of Lynn Anderson"- Prestige Records.
  5. It looks so damn PRO and deliciously good!!! But @189Euro?!! I wonder when it's avaliable in singapore and how much would the price be?
  6. Thks for all your suggestions! Any recommendations for a mid-range priced Bass-king headphones? Miss those heart-pumping bass i experienced when throwing a granade , actually i love the sound so much i've the urge to remove my earplugs to savour every bit of deep deep bass!
  7. I'm looking for a good condition legendary "Koss Portapro", but seems like i can't find them anywhere in singapore. Will anyone help? First or 2nd hand also can! thks!
  8. thks for your sppedy reply! I've read your reviews for a few times, but for the start, I just wish to start off with the 2134, cos it's not as pricy as other chips. Pls check your PM. Thks!
  9. Anyone has some spare 2134, and is kind enough to sell me a few? I need 4 very urgently, for my CMOY project. Even it means to pick up at your place at midnight, i'll be most happy! Thanks alot!
  10. Anyone wants to pool up to buy this popular op-amp?
  11. Does anyone has any good recommendation on good cans for "live gigs/concerts" types of sound quality? thks
  12. I just wonder how different is a sound of XA3000ES from a PCDP? Besides the self-justification of reasoning that -"It cost so much it must definitely be good" would some audio-guru like you be able to tell which is which by blindfolding, and listen to the sound? No offence! Just something I'm very curious! Cheers!
  13. I'm using Sony "Fontpia" series earsbuds, thats giving the "deaf-on-one-side" problem. I felt guilty after reading Makie's post! Yes, I din really stow it properly in the case after every use, but I was never a headphone-abuser, I 'm a casual user, giving it the fair treatment of the ruggedness in life, but i never yank the poor jack by the cord! I listen to all genre of music, but i love deep heartpounding bass and punishing guitar solos. The last durable headphones that i remembered served me well was a budget Sony Studio monitor. I used it on the bus everyday listening on drum-blasting volume on a PCDP in the early 90s right thru the 2000 until I lost it! I've lost so much faith in earbuds, that starting today, I'm a happy owner/enjoyer of a Senn PX200. Though, somehow, it sounded not as loud as a "camo"-design cans, that i've tried there ( jade shop), but the PX200 sounds good on Funk- "Jamiroquai- Little'L". I could definitely hear stuffs that I've missed out previously with cheapbuds. I wonder how it sounds with live concerts, instrumental, and vocals. I really love the sound of live gigs/concerts, does anyone know which cans manage to duplicate the effects as close as possible? Thanks to all your advice! Cheers!~~
  14. I would like to know on the average , how long can your headphones/ earbuds etc last before giving you any problems? I've spent a lot of money replacing spoilt headphones/ earbuds .I realised that most headphones/ earbuds are made to be very flimsy and most of them work only for a few months before the sound from either side went off, I suspect it's the weak joints at the jack giving the problem. Do u have any good suggestions or can recommend me any longlasting headphones/ earbuds ? I see no sense in spending a couple of hundreds bucks on some headphones/ earbuds just to see it spoilt after a few miserable months!
