  1. "not-so-expensive" & portable amps can be found where ?
  2. u should give the koss ksc35/75 a shot before finally deciding on the px200, initially thought of getting the px200 too myself.. but thank god i tried the koss b4 making my final decision, am enjoying listening to em now they both sound similar(according to pple on head-fi) and the only significant difference is that ksc75 comes with adjustable ear-bands(so as to get a more comfortable fit).. but honestly to each his own, if u like em px200 by all means go for it and u have the tangs voucher as well so that helps. welcome to sgheadphones

    Koss KSC75

other den hung bros, any other shop carries this ? planning to get it by friday, looks good
  5. well if u do have the time, theres this other place @ shaw tower.. called "jade gift shop", recommended by quite a number of pple here.. the mentioned shops offer more or less the same thing considering ur budget contraint, so if ur really tight(on cash ) just decide on wadcha want and go to whereever is convenient for u if comfort is ur priority, i guess clip-ons are definitely out (IMHO) , and with ur budget i'd say ur choices are limited.. heres my 2 ¢ ATH FC7 Senn PX 100 Sony EX71 (In-earphones) Sharp MD33 (In-earphones) Koss Porta/Sporta Pro (unsure about pricing but should be just within ur budget)
  6. tt day i went to the Hung Brothers to buy the sennheiser MX 500, i bought it from the guy with the MUSTSCHE.... omg!!! wad is the prob with him neway?! i was quite interested in audio techinca earphones the previous two times i went over to view at the hung brothers... but didnt buy it cause of the high cost... might decide on buying now... wad is the price of audio technica FC7 ?! its going @ $59 if i remember correctly, theres this other shop on the first floor.. its outside and not within simlim which sells quite a variety of earphones/headphones as well.. u can give it a shot, prices pretty competetive cant remember the exact name but if i recall correctly it starts with a "C" and is near this shop called wailian
  7. gotta agree with u on the sound quality, borrowed my friends 1 to listen.. gd stuff ! the only drawback would be they are clip-ons, and im a specky so it can be uncomfortable..
  8. if u have a relatively small head, u can try out the audio technica FC7 over @ hung brothers at simlim square 3rd floor.. come up from the escalator and its right in front of ya.. bring ur portable with u and ask if u can try out the headphones.. just make sure u stay away from the guy with the MUSTACHE i REPEAT, STAY AWAY FROM THE GUY WITH THE MUSTACHE.. theres this salesgirl in the shop who was really nice to me, try asking her instead
  9. 6 days old 4G iPod 20gb 30 songs
  10. went around sls the other time.. theres this shop on the outside, 1st floor, near wailian which sells quite a variety of earphones as well.. u can check it out there
  11. bpribadi: RICH!... egoh: thanks for the heads up dude, sis works @ adephi so i think it'd be pretty convenient if and when i wanna get 1. but wad im aiming for here is portability so this would be my last alternative. great purchase btw, the grados must sound real sweeeet
  12. whos douglas btw ?? went all the way down to shaw tower today only to find the jade gift shop closed.. .. went to have walkabout @ suntec as well... just so u guys know, went to courts, harvey norman & tower records... no headphones of interest at all... the hmv @ citylink also... my last chance would prolly give the "jade gift shop" another go on a weekday... if really bo pian, i will just plonk the extra money and get myself a grado sr-60... searching for headphones can be physically draining
  13. thanks kenshinz, u mean other pple had run-ins with him as well ? ah well, really wanted to just get the fc7 from him and get the hell out of there just now, cheap @ $60 , but my conscience kept telling me not too... and i listened thanks anyways for the heads up on the jade gift shop.. will try and go down tmw if i can
  14. well, went down to hung bros just now at abt 1-2pm... was served by the guy with the mustache... was all excited & took out my ipod ready to ask him if i could give the handphones(px200 or fc7) a go and he said no, no trying(gave me the headphone so cheap still wanna try kinda look)... shrugged and went off to do hes own thing(which was nothing basically.. just standing there)... wad really pissed me off was when he said no, i proceeded to ask him questions abt the headphones and he wasnt really interested in serving me or answering my questions anymore and there werent any pple in the shop... so i thought fuk it and walked off... they may have the largest selection of headphones in sg, but with an attitude like that.. i wouldnt buy from them ever even if my life depended on it... i need some help from u guys now, where else can i go to purchase either a px200 or fc7 ? i dont even need to audition them, i just wanna try it on and see which 1 fits better.. wad an anti-climax, i was so looking forward to today...
  15. oo, not sure wad he means by neck-band, neck band = behind the neck ? my bad den
  16. im not sure how much is the ksc-35, but ive heard nothing but good things about it .. should be cheaper den the 55 i THINK
  17. well i did search the forums b4 posting this i SWEAR.. but yeah, i was thinking along the same lines.. maybe first start by dividing them according to their price range (<100 , <200 , <350 , 350+ ?) den proceed to sub-categorise them by type (full-size , canal , clip-ons etc.. ) i think this will be a good start already considering this would cater more to green horns rather den audiophiles..
  18. Why rely / waiting on other people opinions? I suggest you go to Hung Brothers at SLS 3rd floor, and try it there Trust your own ears ! That what made me bought the ATH-EW9. I didn't know about it at all before I bought it, I just saw it at Hung Bros, looks nice, then I asked Douglas (from Hung Bros) to open one for me, then I pluged it into my PCDP. I found on the spot that it sounds good. After comparing with other headphones on the shop, I bought it. So at that time my ears are my only reference, and I'm glad I bought it yeah im gonna be doing that, but im stilling waiting for the iPod rep to call me to go down and collect it.... so for the time being im seeking the opinions of others never hurts to hear what other pple have to say..
  19. so to conclude... FINAL list : senn px200 - good only after "burnt in" ATH FC7 - not many reviews around.. mixed reactions, undecided Sony Eggo MDR-D22SL - smaller brother of the acclaimed d66(would rather the d66 but its $157 over @ bluetin) mods, ever consider making a sticky thread containing recommended cans of different price ranges ?? am sure it will help alot of pple, just a suggestion
  20. oh yeah mackie, read somewhere that u have deals on beyers ? care to share the info with me TIA
  21. yeah been reading an awful lot abt these phones.. but i still prefer the conventional headphones thanks for the advice though, keep em coming *still waiting for the iPod rep to call me when the new stocks come in... the wait is killing me
  22. well right now my choices are based on specs and looks.. i havent actually heard any of them, just wanna get a rough idea on wads good and wads not.. just contracted the audio bug so im still feeling my way around.. wanna get a good shortlist and hopefully find a shop accomodating enough to let me audition em phones.. spent the last 2 days scouring the net for alternative portable phones for around $100 or US$60 and i kept coming up with these few.. senn px200/100 ath fc7/f55 sony eggo mdr-d22sl read rave reviews abt those beyers and grados but their slightly bigger and arent as portable IMHO(plz prove me wrong if u feel the need to )
  23. "i have to bend it back a little to..." u mean it warps, after constant wearing ?
  24. uh.. i just realised i left out 1 tiny little detail.. i have a relatively large head..(dont ask me why, something to do with mah genes and im not fat ! ) brought it down to just 4 choices: (px200/100 , FC7 , D22SL) .. have a bad feeling the senn's would be a tight fit any big-heads out there care to give any comments ?
