You can try the Igrado. It matches with the Ipod pretty well.

I do not need you to do anything. Just sharing the previous experiences I had hosting meets, That's all...

Learning points from previous meets:

1. Bigger the room, the better. This is limited by budget.

2. Split up the room, one side for listening and the other side for socializing and food. Hifi equipment and food do not mix very well.

3. Make sure there are enough sources i.e cd players or ipods and interconnects. Plenty of amps and headphone to go around but never enough sources.

4. Bring our own power strips.

5. Sufficient tables and chairs

curiously enough i've never tried my hd600 with the stock cable. Bought it 2nd hand with the equinox. Wonder how big the difference is...

The difference between the stock and the Equinox is the veil is lifted and gives the Hd600 more air.

Well that's true, you may want to upgrade your interconnects and your source first. I remembered the sonic bliss I was in, when I was running it with the NAD541i with the Sudgen Headmaster. Anyway the best setup IMHO for Jazz and vocals was using the Cary 300SEI with HD600

Welcome to the HD600 club. The next thing you may want to look for is an after market cable.

I have not known that the HD600 will sound harsh, but it may sound sibilant depending on the recordings or the setup used. On comparison of the HD650 and the HD600, the HD600 sounds more balanced while the HD650 top end is a tad recessed. However, this could be addressed with a chance of the cable. The Hd650 offers more flesh in the mids as compared to the HD600. Depending on your preference or your choice of setup, you may prefer the HD650 to the HD600. As for me I have sold my HD650 and kept my HD600.

You may want to try a soldisteel rack. Not too sure, how much it costs brand new. A 2nd hand 3 tier rack should be less than 1k.

Are your online goods covered by insurance? If you declare your goods lower than the amount you paid, the insurance will only cover to the amount you declare. Things gets lost and damaged quite often via post. Just be careful on how much you want to declare, you maybe losing much more.

With the PS1, you seem to have all the top line Grados, RS1 , MS Pro, GS1000 and now the PS1. All you need now is a HP1 and you will complete the grand slam of all grados!

Not too sure if this is the site that you could order the ear max pro from.

Firstly, if you want a detailed and analytical sound, you may not want to go for a tube amp. Secondly, it is best if you could start with your source to obtain the type of sound you want. What is your current source and interconnects?

A pair of full range speakers that goes 20Hz-20kHz is not gonna be cheap.
