  1. Loving this amp already! The only amp I've tried so far is with the diy cmoy2 with 2227's inside, so comparison wise I don't think it's very fair, lol.

Firstly, using emu0404 as source and sr80's as phones. Hmm...first impressions are a nice and tight bass, and pretty detailed trebles, but I feel the highs are a bit bright ( as in fatigueing). Then again, it's just first impressions, or it could just be the grados, so I'll see how it goes.

A noticeable improvement in soundstage too.

  2. Dammit... trying so hard not to splurge on a um1. Sighs... suddenly my e2c doesn't satisfy me anymore. :D

Btw, is it possible to try out the er6i with foam tips instead? The last time I tried out with tri-flanges, they didn't really jam nicely into my ear canal *ouch*....

  3. To me, it's all relative.

Meaning the bass becomes importent depending on that particular song. For example, if you've listened to some of the LOST soundtracks - long, drawn-out tones from the piano set the main "beat" or rhythm for some these orchestral pieces. This being the case...it's importent to get a deep and detailed.

Then in some pieces, the cello is very apparent thoughout the whole song. Again, detailed and deep.

So, in the end, it all comes down to the song.

  4. Oops, I meant the LDM and the LDM+, lol! But since the LDM is out of stuck, I'll go with the LDM+. Question: Does it come with an adapter, specifically, one suited for our local mains? Not that it really matter, since I already have an adapter.

    Also, PMed you.

  5. Heh, I went to the demo of the x-fi techs, and I know how it sounds (for gaming, that is). But compared to the 0404, it sounds...shallow? The 0404 sounds more...natural... Anyways, I don't do much intensive gaming, so I just need a card that makes things on my pc sound good.

As for aegisofrime, eh, everyone's using it...so I guess I gave it a try, and so far till now, does quite ok.

  6. I don't know whether the card is suited for gaming or not, but when I play Oblivion, the card randomly leaves out game music and sounds frequently, meaning I have to switch back to on-board audio. Unfortunately, i can hear the reduced sound quality.

Plus, I hear crackling in the background when listening to music. Sigh...I think it's dying, and it's roughly about 1 to 2 years old. Any solutions? Or perhaps it's time for a replacement?

sad2.gif Don't know much about the audio card scene, have only tried Creative cards so far.
