I have not heard the Cayin but recently had the chance to audition the Arcam. It is very good, and the price is around $1,000 if you bargain. Try Monsoon Home Theatre at Paragon. The service is excellent and there is no pressure to buy. But be warned, you and your money will soon be parted! If you budget allows, perhaps you might wish to consider a Arcam DV78, and get DVD, MP3 playback together with your CD player, for around $1,800. Cheers!

I just hooked up a Creek OBH-21 amp to my PC's built in motherboard sound card and plugged in a Senn HD-555. It sounds really good. I think a dedicated amp makes quite a difference to the quality of the sound. Have fun!

In this price range, I think a Marantz CD5400 would be good value for money.

Hi guys, I'm checking out the Creek OBH 21 headamp at the moment and was wondering if anyone has any experience with this equipment? Read some good reviews, some bad reviews, and now, not sure if this unit is worth the $450 I was quoted. Cheers!
