It's much better than the Promedia 2.1 and GMX A2.1 but at $720, the increment doesn't warrant the improvements in SQ but it's really solid! $720 is a bit ex for a multimedia system though the RX3 speakers are taken from the Klipsch RX lines of satts.
  5. Bose Companion 3 arent the best companions for your headphone & earphone set-up.
  6. im also a student using the UM1. i bought the Shure Tri-Flange and converted it into the Bi-flange. The sound of the Bi-flange works much better than the Tri, and better than the Shure Soft Fleexe. I like the UM1 for it's musicality and it's balanced and accurate sound production compared to my previous e3c. my 2 cents.
  7. nice pricing. too bad i've already gotten my UM1. UM2 is still out of reach. Upz for you. How about tri-flanges? Do you have them?
  8. If youadore the highs, mids and clarity, you should try the e4c out. I've moved from PX200, ex71, hje50, e3c and now, a UM1. I love the e3c for it's silky mids and accurate tone but the mids can sometimes be a little over-powering. the e4c is ultra clear but the sound signature is the same as the e3c. mid range is more prominent than the highs and lows. lesser treble roll-off compared to the e3c. bass is slightly better, better as in more audible. as tight & accurate as the e3c. the e5c was "wow" soundstage was there. more balance than the e3c, e4c. i moved to the UM1 because it gives me more bass from my iPod. Though the mids are not as smooth and endearing as the e3c, it's more of an all-rounded. the treble roll-offs are minimal when i switched to the soft flex sleeves from shure. i have yet to try Etys but i might not like them. i prefer some resonance from my bass response.
  9. Yar, the e4c are definitely better than the e2c. "um2 is very great value for the price.. 237" he means the UM1 at $230 right? e4c is superbly clear and accurate in the mids and highs region. Sometimes a lil too much for some people. Bass is there, slight improvement from the e3c. UM1 is good. Balanced. Wins e3c for tonal balance.
  10. Hi, I owned the PX200, Ex71 & HJE50 before. To me, the PX200 sounded the best but i needed more isolation. HJE-50 wins the Ex71. No bloated bass. Clearer mids. Crisp highs but will crack if volume is maxed. Bass is not boomy, packs a punch or two. Not the very best but is much tighter than Ex71. Overall a very worth budget in-ear earphones to consider. Have yet to try Sharp MD33 or Creative EP630.
  11. hey i got the PX200 for my iPod. "Wowed" by the details. Bass was lacking in my opinion but it wasn't shaby. i sold the PX200 for the Sony Ex71. ALOT of bass! but highs and mids are average. Isolation was much better than the PX200. Light and easy to carry around. After 12 months, the wires on the "Y" connector broke down thus causing the right driver to fail. scout around lookin for another pair of in-ears. Got the HJE-50. At 1st, the highs were terrible, after burning-in, they sound not bad. much clearer thn the Ex71 but not comparable to the PX200. It's a great budget and all-round in-ear earphones that provide good isolation. Bass is not as boomy as Ex71. Highs and mids are better than the Ex71.
  12. sorry dude. the original ProMedia THX 2.1 aren't on sale in singapore liao. The next Klipsch system is the ProMedia GMX A2.1, which is also awesome! i reco the Aego 2 for it's warm"ness". The GMX for it's rich bass and crisp trebles.
