    Ayaka - Mikazuki

I think she has alot of potential.. can't wait to listen to more of her works in the future :)

Yeah, her works are absolutely amazing. Followed her since her first singles....I just hate it and love it when JPN singers releases a single...You'll be paying $16 for 2 songs and 2 instrumental.... :bash: But great songs usually.... :rclxms:

  2. yup, its ryoko and hence my nick RKO. I'm a fan of her ever since her pictorial album days....but her popularity had really died down after news of her unwed pregnancy got to the public. old stuffs are great man, i had a look at my cds and found a few of them that i had really forgotten about. Stuffs from Spitz, Glay, Max and even Kinki Kids. Reminds me of the time when ever there is a long break between lessons, i will be at Tower or HMV in orchard listening through the CDs.

I still remembered Ryoko in Poppya the railway man. Kinda instills upon me a sense nostalgia whenever i listen to the sound track...

  3. Btw, RKO, is that Ryouko Hirosue in ur avatar? Looks abit like her if not its her...Btw, any one of you guys listen to older stuff like X-JAPAN, WANDS or Toshinobu Kubota? I know Sekaiju No Dare Yori Kitto by Nakayama Miho & WANDS is really nice...Also, LA LA LA LOVE SONG by Toshinobu Kubota is really nice. Love that song...

  4. recommendations from me(in this order):

    The Brilliant Green

    Chage & Aska

    Mr Children

    Himuro Kyosuke

    Fumiya Fujii

and not to mention so many others like Laruku, Luna Sea(more for jrock than jpop), Glay, etc etc ........

Chage and Aska is especially god like. That famous song SAY YES is amazing...

  5. Hi,

I'm an avid Ayumi fan, i was a tad disappointed with her latest album. If i'm to recommend, I'll probably say Ayu's early albums are much better. My fav is LOVEppears Album, I just love all the songs, also try her debut album, A Song For XX.

As for Secrets, only Bluebird is good....if you all are looking for a good Jpop album, try 'First Message' by Ayaka

For Mika Nakashima, i only got her 'LOVE' album which is her 2nd, i like the hit , 雪の華 (Snow's Flower)

Second that! Ayaka's Full Album is great. Been listening to her singles all the while. So when First Message came out, I made a move for it. I beleive and Start to 0 as well as Real Voice are all some great tracks.

Maybe you should try some of those not available in SG easily JPOP. For me I love Japanese Anime OSTs so must of my japanese songs originate from there. For now listening to KOTOKO new CD Uzu-maki.

Btw, when i looked at your post, i was thinking when did i ever post this? Cause our avatar seem a little similar...haha

  6. Pls hor if you tweak yr router to be more powerful.. yr audio aka headphone system might pick up some distortion sound....

I so called increase the power of my router and i can hear.. "t*t t*t" sound.. play ard with the tubes... ICs.... then finally then i try power down my router and the sound gone.. :bash:

Lol....Your case sounds abit too extreme.... But so far, I hear no distortion or any funny signals...I know of a friend who brings his IEMs and PA2V2 on the subway and complained that it was unlistenable cause of all the handphone signals that the amp was picking up...Haha...

  7. I'd recommend getting an Alcatel (Thomson) Speedtouch 585. It's a good ADSL(2) modem cum router. The antenna can be replaced for something more powerful if so wished.

On the other hand, you may also consider getting a separate modem + router combo. In which case, I'd recommend using a D-Link DGL-4300. It's an extremely versatile (I'd say overkill as well) router considering that it's for consumers.

It has the capability to adjust the wireless power fed into the antenna and uses a fairly common RP-SMA connector for it's external antenna (it does have an internal antenna too) so you may upgrade the antenna if need be.

You might also wish to consider the Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 high power router or it's non-HP brother. Both are capable routers at fairly low cost.

As for the modem, I can't say I can recommend any but I'd avoid Linksys (ADSL2 ME), Prolink (Hurricane 6000 series) and Aztech (DSL 600EU).

Thanks guys but in the end, I called in the cable guy and did cabling from my room the the room the Modem's in. Wired is still the best...And I also added a 7dbi atenna for the WAG354g and the signal is so much better now..

  8. Whether clean power makes an improvement or not depends on where u live, the kind of house u live, the year the house is built, the type of circuit your wall socket is linked to.

if u live in HDB, power conditioning will make a huge improvement in a resolving headphone like STAX.

TIP: tell kaneda to declare the headphone as USD $50 when it ships. You will save alot on taxes.

    I don't live in HDB :))

  9. Hi, I'am currently using the Linksys WAG354G and its been working fine when I'am wired to it. However, using its wireless can be a pain in the arse...Its really weak and unstable and I'am having frequent disconnections when my room is just 4metres away from it with two doors separating us. The ADSL gateway doesn't come with an antenna and its just a square box so I was wondering if that the case for weak reception...

And btw, when I turn on the wireless connection in my computer, even my neighbour's linksys router showed a stronger signal of 78% than my own linksys ADSL gateway...I was like standing next to it and the signal strength was only 70%...

So could anyone recommend me a top notch ADSL gateway? Price isn't much of a consideration as I'am really determined to get this whole home networking problem settled once and for all.

Or do you think it would be better if I went for a ADSL modem and then purchase a 802.11n router for better coverage and signal strength? I've checked out the "linksys WRT300N Wireless-N Broadband Router" as well as the "WRT350N Wireless-N Gigabit Router with Storage Link". How do they perform? Or should I be considering something like a gaming router since I've heard that they perform pretty well and are more lag free? I've checked out the D-Link Gaming Router DGL-4300

As for ADSL gateways, I've looked into the NETGEAR DG834GT 108Mpbs, NETGEAR DG834PN 108Mpbs and the 3Com 3CRWDR200A 108Mpbs. How are they?

  10. dont rich ppl just make u sick! :yuck: it does to me..sick with envy  ! hehe! only kidding razor dude..we all just wanna be u

on the subject of W5k fit, mine's fit very loosey goosey and i dont believe i have a midget head. howeva, i dont find that the fit has any sonic deficiencies. while pressuring my ears by compressing the 2 wooden cups with the hands do make the bass abit deeper, i find the bass sans hand pressure just fine. if its lacking, dont blame the W5k. it waznt in the recording in the 1st pl

Not rich lah...But seriously, I wonder if AT's facing a problem with QC....Since the L3000 bass defect problem saga till now, the W5000 headband problem...Hmmzz...But can't deny that they make great headphones....(I'am also more of an AT fan...)

  11. One observation from a recent meet is that the W5000 can have different head bands. Mine is smaller and fits better while the other one was larger.

Might it be manufacturing differences or different batch and so on? Cause there's no limited edition at all on them cans. Which is another reason why I'am in no hurry to get them...I've shifted my attention to the O2's and amps recently and have been eyeing the DHA-3000 amp by ATH recently...Managed to find a piece of each...Also, I found a L3000G for a pretty decent price...Looks like a busy christmas!! :rclxub:

  12. I've been listening to the HA-01 for the past few days, and I notice there isn't any hiss or hum.... funny, dead silent background. ( Will double confirm that after a audiclean session tonight.... hope nothing's wrong with my ears.)

Two days before the HA-01 came, I changed a brand new set of Mullard tubes on my X-can V3, now it's on the reserve bench.

Of course, the previous Tara labs interconnect had to go, didn't seem to do much justice to the HA-01.

Will do a few more session of listening with different brands of headphones, too busy to audition this few days.

Do post more comments! I'am really keen on gettting them for AT cans...

  13. After discovering this site,

    CD Japan

My wallet has been taking a lot of damage. Japanese presses and they even indicated if the CDs you're getting are from the first press.! Lovely! :))

Yeah, CD japan's nice. I've always been buying most of my CD's from there. Really good service and pretty wide selection. Btw, does anyone here listen to You Hitoto or Sowelu??

  14. hehe! supposedly, the hum is only audible on low music passages but OTOH, HA01 is 1/2 the price of HA5000. so i guess it boils down to "yous pays your money and yous takes your risks"!

your impression of the L3000 mirrors partially what i'v read. either its just ho hum or its spectacular. perhaps upstream source/amp may have something to do with that? the low impedance of AT cans require hi current amps to realy bring it out (or so i'v read FWIW). the only thing i can be sure of is I LOVE WOODIES! and the L3000 isnt too shabby in the looks dept. either :lust:

if stereo electronics has a HA5000 in stock, i'd bring the L3000 down for a listen if i were u. mite be pleasantly suprized

The L3000 never looked abit shabby in the looks department. In the pictures they may seem somewhat normal but once you see the real thing....Its LOW AND BEHOLD! Beautiful leather with soft and plush earpads.

  15. bought the cans but still awaiting delivery (should be in my hand early nxt week). will be glad to share my opinion in due time. but i gather stereo electronics has 1to demo? cant beat listening for urself. btw, wats the deal on the L3000? is it as awesome as its rated? if this higher fidelity HA01 is any where close to AT HA5000, then it mite be the best amp to drive both the W5k and L3k.

But I'am pretty bothered by the issues of HUM....I hate that...(who likes it anyway? :bash: )...The L3000? It sure sounds good but nothing really spectacular or mind blowing in my opinion. Afterall, its not worth the super huge price difference between itself and other cans like HD650 or AD2000. Its simply something more refined and of higher build quality with the word limted ed slapped onto it. Then when you think about paying so much more for maybe a 15% or less increase in sound quality, it may not seem to be such a wise investment for some...I don't regret the buy though...

  16. Hi Razer,

I have to agree with u on the $1400 premium and wish you would enjoy your new purchases to the fullest. But one thing to take note is the voltage used and whether, the oversea dealer that you are buying the item is an authorised STAX dealer in that country.

Oh, don't worry about the Voltage. Its always the first thing that i consider when getting any electronics. Even so, if something goes wrong, I've got a pretty decent Step down transfomer that'll do the job. And I'am not a big believer of clean pwoer supply so its alright for me...
