  1. Oh! Where can i find marantz cd5001 for 280?
  2. One more thing: what is this TS Lim modification for marantz cdplayer about?
  3. Er...what are RCA cables arh? I have one with white and red heads, terminating on the other end with a single head (grey). Is that it? Cambridge how much? I budget leh Marantz i pay 300 got liao
  4. Hey guys! Paiseh got to bother you people a bit hor! I wanna get a cd-player, budget lah...newbie wan.... Looking at Marantz CD5001....can hor? But i hear from my friend that Denon makes extremely decent cd-players as well, so i should consider it. How is the "Denon sound" like? And where can i find them? Oh and er.... I really dunno about such things but... will it be ok if i plug my aego-m to the marantz? do i need to do anything else? Will it be SWEEEET?
  5. Er....just go and try lor, you won't lose an arm or a leg and no audiophile snob's going to LAUGH at you for entering that supercilious store haha I feel it's comfortable, decent and fun sounding lah. If you dun like the sound signature den KA BOOM! even Capt Jack Sparrow won't be able to save the sinking ship All the best guys!
  6. Yo yo.... To clear the air... Atlas ALLOWS you to try out ALL their headphones dudes and dudettes! Just bring ur thang down and they'll be happy to oblige (at least they looked happy when i walked in...bwahaha) I tried the earphones out for some time before i decided to get it. Nobody hurries u there, they just politely go and do their own thang until u call for them. And then they'll clean the tips u used so thoroughly i almost thought they'd rub another hole through it. TRY TRY TRY! Never buy without trying cos it's YOUR cash u're deciding to part with and YOUR BRAINS that's gonna make that decision. But Ah Boy (the topic starter), Bose IE definitely blows the px200 out of the water but why dun u try the sennheiser's px100? My favourite pair of portables cos they're so darn cheap and DELICIOUS! Yeah! Call me cheapo! but i get turned on seriously by bang-for-buck cans. But sometimes i know the reason to buy certain audio equipment is not solely for good sound, but just for the interest in trying and possessing the different sound signatures from the different companies. I know, cos i'm one
  7. Erm...oh because i bought these head/earphones primarily for portable use, so dun see a point to audition them using home rig. There.
  8. Aiyo i use only the 5th gen video ipod and my laptop. I din even use any amps to boost the earphones lor... I dunno how come the fit is better these days...maybe the silicone molded to my ear? haha Yeah i agree Bose didn't quite deliver in the many years before, but the Bose IE really came close to having several curtain calls... Yep my fav is Fizban, cos raistlin just was too damn depressed! And oh btw...do you know the animated movie of Dragons of Autumn Twilight is coming out soon??
  9. Hi! I feel i need to contribute to this, esp cos i shelled out money to buy the Bose in-ears recently. In the first place, i believe the 30-day money-back guarantee does NOT apply to Singapore, but only to online purchase, and even that does not seem to apply to Singapore. Secondly, pls guys, do make some effort to listen to the headphones you are commenting on. There is no positive contribution to this forum nor to readers out there in making judgements about models you haven't heard, even if the company may not be reputable. It's a matter of personal responsibilty. As for the sound, i must say they sound VERY DECENT. I own MylarOne x3, V-moda vibes (1st and 2g generation), KSC-75, PX-100, B&O A8, Sony EX85, Senn HD485, A900, Shure E5C, among others. In comparison, this particular Bose offering (the in-ear, that is) is a crowd pleaser. Sound is expectedly warm, heavy-duty bass, but also overall pretty balanced, IF you turn off bass-enhancing EQ on ur player. Definitely much more balanced than the Vibes (compared to the 2nd generation ones which are much bassier than the 1st), more fun than KSC-75, far fuller than B&O, much more REAL than the soud EX85 is producing. Not as bassy as HD485. Nothing more can be said about it, just that you have to listen to appreciate it. Not the most detailed out there, but very pleasing, if good sound means ENJOYING your music rather than DISSECTING it. Comfort wise...i need to say they ARE WEIRD. Others say they are unearthly comfortable, but that's cos i gives u the feeling that it sort of "hangs out there" on your ear. Not a snug fit. Not somethign i'm used to at all. Makes me feel as if they might fly away anytime. But it seems after a few days, the silicone tips seem more secure in my ears now, dunno why. Definitely no isolation, but others won't hear leakage from them either. All-in-all, one of the nicer products by Bose in a long while. Peace out. Btw, in comparison to the MylarOne x3 (which i LOVE cos it's truly bang for buck), Bose IE has a richer sound, more generous, i would say...like running towards and plonking yourself in the midst of some nice full bosom. Mylar X3 although has very nice mids (nicer than Bose IE), fails to give me as believeable a soundstage, nor as reassuring a full, warm cushion of a bass. While i love Mylar X3 for being cheap and good, i prefer the Bose IE for a more relaxing night out, never failing to please me. The relatively affordable price of the Bose IE (compared to their previous products) helped seal the deal for me.
  10. I bought my first from Epicentre at Wheelock, and bought the Red Roxx over the net. Took a little less than 2 full weeks for it to arrive. Do note that there are currently 2 generations of Vibes, the first being more natural and less bassy, while the 2nd being much more bassy and less soundstage. No certain way to know which is which, until u buy it and open it up and try it:(
  11. I have the EX85LP, which has the same drivers as EX90LP/SL....and i LOVE IT! Very well-balanced with good supporting bass and clear highs. Nice, reasonable soundstage too, for earphones.
  12. Oh yeah i own the gunmetal one. I love it so much...it is replacing even my e5cs. Pls do urself a favour and get them. Just about nothing portable ever sounded as exciting or fun. BUT...it seems epicentre, where i got it, have run out of stock. Do check with the staff then it's arriving again.
  13. Actually many have associated the new v-moda vibes with a mini portable grados. It's canal earbuds like the sony types so it's really comfortable, yet its sound is WAY beyond sony's. Pretty bang for buck at $179.
  14. thing is, i already have Aego-M. Is it possible to expand that 2.1 system into a 5.1?
  15. Hi i dunno if i should post this topic here or under "PC Speakers". I am looking for cost-effective speakers for gaming for Xbox 360. 5.1 Advice pls! And price:)
