  1. These days, mooncakes come in many fancy boxes. Throwing them away is what I always do and it is a waste given the state of today's environment and Earth's resources. So either recycle them or:

Nice box, such sizes are the best. It is slim too!

Open the left flap, magnetic closure!

Another way to store your Alessandros/Grados.

But it is quite unlikely I will use this as I have the grado case already. Sorry for the poor pics!

  2. Woah. I have the black album though.

Guess I'm not big enough a fan :P

Hmm, CDJapan carried singles dating back to 1995, but this is 1991.

I've the black album too and many of its singles like Unforgiven, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters, Whereever I May Roam etc. Actually, I have the normal Enter Sandman single and this smaller disc.

    :P

My black album is also the Made In USA version, comes in a long cardboard box that import CDs used to come in.

  3. Don't know why I'm not receiving notifications of this thread's reply even though I'm subscribed.

Anyway, I've been using the SE w880i with my UM2 for a week, and I am pleased with the sound quality. I only use it while commuting, so I'm not listening to my music with the full attention as someone doing a serious review. In fact I've not even compared the SQ with my 4th gen iPod

The only catch is not enough bass from the SE compared to my iPod, I have to use the bass boost EQ. However, I listen to electronic music, so maybe I'm used to more bass. The UM2 on the iPod definitely produced punchier bass with more body compared to the SE on no EQ.

Besides that, I've been totally satisfied pairing the phone with my IEMs, and impressed with the UI (new SE user) with regards to using the phone while listening to music.

    :cans:

Yup ur findings/tots are similar to mine. Bass is lacking a bit and its mids can be a bit flat at times. Using the EQ to boost bass is better than the Megabass. The UI is very good. BTW, W880i's keys are a little small?

  4. lol the controls for music player on SEs are very good. 3 ways control. 1) When holding in ur palm, use the joystick to play/stop, forward/rewind. 2) on the table, use keypad 4,5 and 6. 3) When holding in ur hand, use the dedicated play/stop and vol keys to that but have to press and hold for 2 sec, if not it adjusts the vol.

My K800i is quite responsive, at least never hang before. Song transition has no additional hissing.

The problem with the N series is that it can do many things, therefore, slowing it down.

  5. I dun have experience with other brands of phones but SE has one of the best sound. As far as I know, the current SE models should sound the same. As for Walkman Vs Cybershot, the sound quality is the same. Tried my K800i against friend's W810 and W850. The difference is that the Walkman series has better music player software. It gives u more choices in searching for songs like 'Album, Genre' etc. And it has a more colourful or should i say attractive interface. In the K800i, u only have 'Artiste, tracks and playlist' and its presented in a dull grey colour. These are the differences. Sound wise, my friends and I can't tell.

U can use a 3rd party 3.5mm adapter but look around and get a better one. There're many cheap and lousy ones out there. As for me, I'm using a HPM-70 which has a 3.5mm jack.

Just dun expect it to replace your player. Not quite there yet but close enough to be acceptable for me and good enough to the countless SE users out there.

Also, the latest SE models uses the Sony M2 card and the current max is only 2gb, which is definately not enough as u can do many things with the phone like movie clips and the countless games out there. 4gb is on the way but it will be very ex. As always, Sony MS cards cost a lot more than other brands/formats. U win some, u lose some I guess.

  6. For Ety's warranty, they'll help u if u bought it online. I got my ER6i back in 05 online and there is a slight stain on the white cable. emailed them to ask about it. I was only intending to ask about the slight stain but they offered an exchange without asking for any warranty or anything. Ety's customer service is 1 of the best.

But its back in 05 and i dunno did they change their policy or not. If its still the same, then no worries for ety owners even if they got them online.

  7. A Matter Of Life And Death. Very impressed with it and i think it is almost as good as their classics. It took me 9 long months after its release to get it. No regrets buying it and I can say that this is one of the rare album/times that I can listen to the whole album without disliking any songs or find it boring.

I really like the song: For The Greater Good Of God. To me, this is the outstanding track in the album. Simply excellent! Great lyrics, music and tune. The overall theme of this album is about war, death and distruction but its not promoting this theme. Its questioning war and about the reasons. The songs in this album is also generally longer than other Maiden's album.

For hardcore Maiden fans the artwork and inlay might disappoint. Eddie is now a tank commander wearing a helmet and holding a rifle in the background. The front artwork is dominated by the tank and ghost soldiers. The inlay does not feature anymore Eddie as well. The rear artwork has an Eddie head with cross guns, like a skull with cross bones.

    01. A Different World

    02. These Colours Don't Run

    03. Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

    04. The Pilgrim

    05. The Longest Day

    06. Out Of The Shadows

    07. The Reincarnation Of Benjamin Breeg

    08. For The Greater Good Of God

    09. Lord Of Light

    10. The Legacy

Those in bold are what I like and think is good. Disclaimer! What I like, u might not like so.......

Also, this album is not perfect. I find Bruce's voice and the guitars are a little muffled. Like they're behind a thin veil but the drums and bass are alright.

  8. So I found and bought the album today! :D But have not listen yet, too tired. Also bought No Prayer For The Dying. Saw Dance of Death but din buy.

Live Killers is my favourite live album. The bass riffs are stunning and the voice of Bruce d*ckinson is really dramatic.

i check their discography but they dun have a album listed as Live Killers. Is it another Live album or bootleg version? Yeah Bruce's voice is quite iconic. He sound a little muffled but yet so dramatic and operatic. Harris's bass is what added character to Maiden's music.

  9. for me, its either piece of mind, or number of the beast, cant really say which i like more, in fact, i like almost everything that i have listened from them :))

U like almost everything from them? Maiden fan? For me, I'm more of a rock/metal listener.

  10. Hmm.........I tried several Gramophone and Sembawang stores and they dun have. Must be sold out. I listen to the samples at their site and its not bad but not really impress yet. Think I need to listen somemore. A Matter Of Life And Death was number 2 in India and Maiden recently have their 1st gig there. So it got me interested and reckon it have to be good.

I only like B.d*ckingson (lol his name kenna sensored) as the lead singer. I think his voice is what help define Maiden. So the X and XI is out I guess. :P

Which is your fav album and song?

    For me, its:

    Killers:

    1. Warthchild

    2. Killers

    3. Murders In The Rue Morgue

    The Number Of The Beast:

    1. Hallowed Be Thy Name

    2. The Number Of The Beast

    3. Children Of The Damned

    4. Run To The Hills

    Piece Of Mind:

    1. Where Eagles Dare

    2. The Trooper

    3. Revelations

    4. Flight of Icarus

    Powerslave:

    1. Rime Of The Ancient Mariner

    2. Aces High

    3. 2 Minutes To Midnight

    4. Losfer Words

    Somewhere In Time:

    1. Wasted Years

    2. Alexander The Great

    3. Stranger In A Strange Land

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son:

    1. The Evil That Men Do

    2. Can I Play With Madness

    3. Seventh Son of a Seventh Son

    4. Infinite Dreams

    5. The Clairvoyant

These are the albums I have. I used to have Fear of the Dark in cassette but threw it away and never bought the CD. I have a soft spot for Killers, dunno why, but have to admit that The Number Of The Beast and Piece Of Mind is probably their best albums. Hallowed Be Thy Name is their best song and probably one of the best metal songs.

  11. Anyone have or heard their lastest album 'A Matter of Life and Death'? Is it good, comments? Also I recently relisten to their old stuff and become hooked again. Eddie got me! :D I dun have their latest album, so I'm wondering if their 'A Matter of Life and Death' and 'Brave New World' is worth buying.

Also, I've look around at a few stores and they dun have 'A Matter of Life and Death'.
