  1. Most experiences I've read, the users experimented with the triple flanges which are cut into bi flanges. Since the UM2 comes with a set of triple flanges, will try them first.

Can we get other tips in Singapore?

For Shure and Ety tips, can get at Hung Bros or Stereo electronics i think. Comply tips i dunno they have or not. Prices i not sure. Hung Bros sometimes quite ex. Stereo electronics at Causeway Point is kinda far for me.

  2. On a sidenote, how often do you buy new tips? You're using the foam/comply tips? I hear they wear out quite easily.

Depends on how often you use it? bout 2-4 weeks. I want to buy some ety tri-flange tips and shure soft flex tips to experiment around. If i can get my hands on a Shure fit kit, better still.

Actually, you should try too. The supplied comply tips does not neccessary sound good. To me, the free tri-flange tips and short comply tips sounds better. Maybe you can contact flavio and alter your order? If you are doing so, let me know, i want to buy too.

    Edit:

I contact ety and complain that the supplied tips with the ER6i dun fit. They are sending me some samples.

  3. Go for earphonesolutions then. The tri-flange works for some. But you're likely to mod it to get the best fit. I shorten the stalks and cut the top flange off. So now mine is a bi-flanged. headphone.gif The adapter could come in handy one day.

If you can wait, go for cheaper shipping. USPS might not have the glamour of Fedex but quite reliable. No problems with them so far.

  4. nakedtoes: Thought you were referring to the 20% off at earphone solution.

afbug: How much is American Techpushers selling the UM2 for? Earphone Solution is selling the UM2 for S$239.99 after the coupon discount.

I tot the discount coupon expired on 02 Oct for Westones? The rest still on till 20 Oct is what i understand from Flavio's post.

Techpushers are selling at $299 with free portapros. Just opt out of the free gift. Email them for more info. Should be $239.

  5. i think they just changed the cover. sound no change.

The cord is shorter according to Shure's article. Sound no changes i guess. The e2g looks cute!

I think its meant to match PSP and other portable gaming players. Normal players also can la.

  6. Question how much better is px 100 compared to the hd201. It's twice the price of the hd201 exactly. Saving up for those would be an option. Have you used them charismatic? hmm

Hey thanks Yea First Post smile.gif

Hope to be in here a bit more holiday.gifheadphone.gif

HD201 is closed and PX100 is open.

Hd201 has a more upfront presentation and has a well balanced sound. Its not gonna excite or break any records but at that price, its one of the best headphones. Impressive!

PX100 is a mini headphone. More portable and comes with a hard case. It has a laid back and warm sound. Bass is quite awesome, better than the 201. Treble and mids recessed. It sound sweet to me. party.gif Yes, its better and have a wider soundstage than the 201s but it leaks like hell.

Both of them sound quite different. You gotta try to audition one.

  7. up up!! more comments pleasE! btw where can i get the cheapest shure or any other earphones ? BTW I do not have credit card or vpost. What should i do?

There will no more cheap Shures now. I've explained at HWZ. Cheapest IEM will be approx US$99-119. UM1, ER6i, super.fi 3 and e2c are in this range. You can try email earphonesolutions for a discount on e2c.

vpost can simply register at their site. CC ask daddy or mummy for help. yeah.gif

  8. as mention in the topic. which 1 is better?

my budget is ard SGD$130, any other recommendations?

    thanks!

I have the 485, cost $30 more the a 465. The 485 have the laid back sound of the 497. I only heard the 497 before, dun own them. I think its as good or a little better than the 497. Bass extends a little more. Main diff is looks and materials. The newer 485 is more comfy and looks better but a little heavier. I guess the 465 is similar.

I will be gunning for a SR60 soon. headphone.gif Where can i get them for $120?
