Hi Erwin, The SB3 can really surprise you when you use the digital output to feed a DAC. The SB3 easily bettered a Pioneer PD-S904 (old stable platter model) used as transport when fed into a Lite DAC-AH.

For LHS, the other two alternatives are the Canare F-10 (I think about $6-7 per piece) or the normal Neutrik (not the spring loaded Pro-fi) about $3.50 per piece. The normal Neutrik is very tight fitting though. Best to use something to bend the sleeve out a bit.

You should try modding the Lite. The electrolytic output coupling cap can be replaced with something much better. The Lite made a big improvement for my old Pioneer S-904. Also worked very well with budget DVD players. However, it didn't fair so well compared to the D/A section of my Marantz CD-17 III.

Hi, I think its available only at Sky Audio at Bukit Timah Plaza at $250. Great non-OS DAC if you ask me. Have one and its quite good.
