U can forget about using full size headphone. I think IEM is more approciate. I used to do it but not now. Anyway, I will still go for headphone if I were u. U will be in dreamland after a while.

I think once awhile is o.k. Anyway, I think the service at Jaben & Stereo Electronic is much more better as compared to the one at SLS. And I believed this 2 places offered u a better price & after sale service even though I am not their customer.

I think its much easier & cheaper for portable player setup for music nirvana than home hifi setup. I would think most of them will agreed ? I am going to but music nirvana is very subjective to individual.

Look like converting mp3 songs to higher KBPs will improve overall clarity but sound become much clearer. U can hear more things that seem to sound more digital to me. Will confirm again...

But I view it differently. As wat u say boosting SRS/WOW/BBE might distort the sound in one way when using a portable amp but in another way, it can offer you more adjustment to fine tune the sound that you like...... The reason to buy this amp is to amplify my headphone ( 64 ohms ) so to get the maximum strength out of it. Currently, I need to turn volume on my DAP to quite high. You will definitely get a better overall sound if you are using an portable amplifier to drive high impredence headphone for DAP. Anyway, I never used a portable amp b4 & this is my first one. Seem that u owned a Super Macro 3 V6. How is it ? Thanks.

But I doubt portable amp come with SRS, EQ, WOW feature. So far wat I come across is only bass boost control. Is that enough ? Anyway, still waiting for my Super Macro IV to match my H340. My headphone is H280. Luckily, my H340 is not a true line out.....

By bypassing all the features of the DAP, will the sound be nice ? I thought the equaliser is supposed to help u tweak the sound that suit you since all phones give different characteristic sound. I feel its really a waste of money buying a DAP but not using its features.

Definitely a full size headphone. That's wat I am using also outdoor. I preferred them to earphone as I find that they are more comfortable & offered a better overall sound. I think the only disadvantage of full size headphone is the portability. I carried it in my bag. Anyway, you need a portable amp to better the headphone.

U mean the EQ is useless on the DAP when using true line out ? Then wat's the point of using true line out. No way that u can play around with the bass & treble to tweak the sound that suit you.

Pardon me, that is to say volume control will not have any impact when u connect your headphone on this line output. Or simply to say it had its own circuitry & not shared.....

But u can always burned your mp3 songs to a CD. And the good thing is u have all your nice songs in a cd. The question is the mp3 & the CD sound, does it make a difference or can a mp3 sound better than a cd. Anyway, I will try out myself.

Does it really improve your CD sound if u convert to 192KBps as CD sound is at 128KBps ? And wat about mp3 song converted to 192KBps ? I was told by my friend there is a great difference from 128KBps to 192KBps ( 192KBps is much much more better ) but converting to greater than 192KBps does not make really a difference. He is usiing realtime player to do it. If that's the case, then wats the future of CD ? Since MP3 sound is better, easily access & cheaper. Thanks.

Hi, just like to know what audio format u guys download the CD/MP3 songs to your DAP. I know there is EAC, 128KBps, 256KBps 192KBPs, 320KBPs & etc. Which one offer the best sound ? Thanks.

Maybe the old Iriver H1XX. And best of all, it has a optical output. My H340 is definitely not a true line out. Is it better ? If there is any other DAPs which have a true line out, please let me know.

I think if u wanted high storage, u should go for HDD player. As wat I know Apple player used to have low battery life & u need to use itune to download songs to player. I think its better for u to make a trip down to Stereo Electronic at Causeway point to try out as much players as possible. I would say Apple sound more digital & Iriver sound more analog. Haven't really compared the rest of the brands yet. Anyway, sound is very subjective.

I think the best is not to remove the headphone/earphone from the DAP jack. I had been using a number of earphones & headphones. They don't give me any problem. The last earphone that I owned ( E2C ) needed to send for repaired due to the earphone wire is intermittent at the junction point. This was due to rough used of my E2C but luckily its still under warranty. Ever since I am no more using earphone. I believed the quality build of the DAP jack & earphone/headphone played also an important part. But nevertheless, my suggestion is not to remove the earphone or headphone after listening to your DAP.

So the Supermacro IV sound still can't compared to the supermicro or supermini yet ? Maybe need to wait for sometimes. Thought of getting the Supermacro IV

But after thinking for a while, I don't think it might work. Order for Xin amp look very well response that I doubt they might want to consider giving Jaben the dealership. I think I will most probably order by myself but its always good to have a local dealer just in case if there is any problem, u can always get back to him easily.

I check with Jaben Network that they might have the intention to bring in the Xin's range of portable amp here.

Had downloaded rockbox to my H340, Find that the font is very ugly. Would see how is the sound quality after a few days of playback. But most probably will switch back to Iriver firmware. Anyway, I can always select between the 2 anytime without deletion. Wah, try meddling with my player after downloaded with the rockbox firmware. Press the wong button which causes sudden hang of my player. Not able to turn off at all. Wait for the battery flat & hope nothing really happened. Luckily, everything is o.k after that. I think better keep to the Iriver Firmware. Look like the rockbox Firmware not really stable yet.
