  3. Final price reduction - now $25 only
  4. thanks, yongchris. agree with you. i try to bring along my integrated amp and i/c + CDs to test out CDP, if allowed - that way at least i know any difference is likely to be due to speaker/speaker cable + room setting or simply my ears. also good idea to bring headphone amp + headphone, then can eliminate room setting as well.
  5. no, i don't. i'm sure there's justification for suspicion, especially if you follow the some of the recent threads on echoloft about a certain MIC dealer creating fathom threads ... i'm a newbie, hence asking rudimentary questions - mostly only read reviews w/o doing sufficient auditioning. it can be good if you can share your experience with the modified player or buying things from them. if there's any whiff of negative about them, i would skip auditioning the player. probably next time i should be careful about starting a thread with ... "i've heard good things ..." cheers
  6. thanks guys. just saw one set available on echoloft as advertised by Sky Audio. pity i'm not in town this weekend.
  7. Hi guys Have heard good things about the modified Marantz CD63 by TS Lim. Anyone has listened to one or using one currently? Just wanted to know reviews/feedback on it. Thinking of going down to Sky Audio to see whether can audition one, if available. Many thanks.
  8. Putting up for sale as got a Beyer DT880. [Taken]. Thanks for interests.
  9. I'm currently driving the Beyer with the Original Master Headamp. I'm also using an Audio Refinement Integrated amp and loved the sound coming out of the speakers. Hence, itchiness to try using a converter for the speaker outs for the Beyer. Mackie, note your points. I certainly don't want to ruin the drivers or getting a shock! Thanks guys for your valuable inputs.
  10. Thanks. Apologies for asking more questions as i'm clueless about DIY/electronics. Do you know which outlet in singapore sells the parts? Do i tell the guy i need parts for a speaker output converter for headphones (5W 250ohm, stereo jack)? Is it just simply connecting the parts? I recall seeing a picture of the converter on this forum ... Thanks!
  11. thanks. appreciate it. are you saying a commercial converter is available? would you know the costs and place to buy? somehow still itchy to try ...
  12. Selling as bought E2c recently. Selling price reduced to $35. Interested pls sms 9298 8984. Collect at Raffles Place area on weekdays during lunch time. Thanks.
  13. Hi guys My integrated amp does not come with a headphone input. Heard that it is possible to drive a headphone (I"m using Beyer 880) through the speakers out by using a conversion cable. Saw a thread on SGHeadphones on it. Not sure whether it will spoil the headphone/amp. Any guys out there who have experience doing it? Willing to pay for reasonable material + labour costs if this is feasible and cost effective. i'm currently using a Original Master Amp. Thanks in advance.
  14. you better hurry. was there today to get one from Albert. He said probably 1 or 2 sets left - i can't remember.
  15. Got approximately 1-year old Marantz 5400 CD player for sale (rated 5 Stars by What Hi-Fi). Used for less than half a year as got new CD player as gift subsequently. Summary of Review from Marantz website: "Good news! A great sounding set-up needn?t cost you a fortune. That Marantz has not given up on stereo becomes clear as you look at no fewer than four CD players in its mainstream Rans series, and more in its Premium lin-up. This CD5400 is a remarkable player for the money, with superb sound, looks and feel, which give you no clue as to the budget price. Fool your friends into thinking you?ve spent a lot more. " Also review from The Star newspaper audiophile page: http://202.186.86.35/audio/story.asp?file=...ofile/13marantz Headphone out appears to be decent, can even drive my Beyer DT880 (though cannot compare with dedicated headphone amp) Thanks.
  16. check the sticky thread for prices and location above. you can also order the shure from overseas - a search will give you some guide on the recent threads on buying the shure. hope this helps.
  17. Thanks for the info 1 other question - where can you buy and how much for UE's Super.Fi universal fit kit or their foams and biflange tip?
  18. Hi Short of upgrading to a Shure or Ety, any hope of improving the isolation of the Sony MDR EX-71SL headphones? am already using the largest bud that came with the headphone. thanks.
  19. thanks for the valuable feedback.
  20. Hi Newbie here. anyone owned/listened to Bada PH-1 headphone amp b/f? hope this topic has not been beaten to death before ...
