go for the altec lansing iM716.. or the ety er4 if you like their sound signature..

headphones amplifiers work will IEMs as well.. no worries.. however, the improvement/ difference may not be as great as dynamic drivers found in headphones..

haha.. when I ventured into audio fidelity.. the word overpriced seemed to be thrown out of the window.. What mattered is SQ and how deep my pockets could go.. lol..

try senn mx500 if u dont need isolation... bang for buck!!

there seem to be a cable mod for er4 around headfi by the nick AKzip if im not wrong.. reviews of the new cables are pretty good, anyone tempted??

Erm where did you get your phones??

If it is local, you may try your luck and bring it back to the store or maybe the SG distributor, they might be able to identify the earphones product ID.

If you got it overseas, just mail it back to Shure USA.

Westone 3 is a detail oriented IEM, which is alot different from its um1&2.

I see you dont have the black olive foams.. Try them out if you can lay your hands on them, I prefer them over the rest, second only to triple-flanged in terms of SQ.

I have always assumed flash players can last longer than HDDs as they have moving components.. correct me if im wrong though..

However,

I wont comment on the newer players since I do not own them..

Are you considering IEMs?? They work better with DAPs as they are more efficient as compared to headphones..

Oh ya, you should also look into the costs of repairing these phones if they give up on you.. Sensa 2X-S, for example, is quite infamous for having a short lifespan of 1.5-2years due driver problems partly because it has a soft silicon ear moulds.

normally, such agency has a clause in their contract whereby you cannot work for the company directly within 1year after the start of your contract... and the will draw comission should you turn perm...

amps benefit more from a line-out... I don't remember NW-501 has one... thou you can amp out from the headphone jack..

You're driving cans... thus an amp will definitely have significant improvement...

Why don't you go jaben/ SE and audition the amps...

So recently I PMed a seller in the classifieds section inquiring about the HA20 he was selling. But I guess my offer sorta irked him, and I didn't receive a reply.

 

Anyway, what are the prices of the more popular budget (around.. $200 new?) head amps here? And where do I find them? Ideally the head amp should have RCA outs too, so amps like the CMOY or PA2V2 don't count I guess..

erm it actually depends,

PA2v2 and CMOY are both portable amps, so being portable, people usually hook it up to a portable device via lineout, so a RCA out is quite pointless in this sense.

RCA, coaxial;(sp??) and optical lineout usually applies for destop amps,so as to be hooked up to a CDP etc.

prices wise, the range is super wide, so i cannot really comment on that. $200 should be able to get you a decent amp in my opinion.
