  1. Just came back from Koba with a custom IC using silver cable (1m cut into 3 and braided. $1.50/m) and gold colour 3.5mm plugs ($5 for a pair).
  2. From what I have read, seems like locally LHS is the obvious choice for custom making an IC for ipod>amp. Was wondering if there are other options. As my work place is quite near Koba (people park), has anyone tried making an IC with them?
  3. Just started on this hobby, and was wondering what music pieces do you test your setup. My source is an ipod video, and i usually test using these pieces: 1. Luka - Suzanne Vega 2. Bizarre Love Triangle - Frente 3. Hotel California - Eagles (from Hell Freezes Over) Hope to learn more from the veterans.
  4. Just got my Sendstation Pocketdoc, now searching for cables
  5. The set up is more for home listening. My walkabout will most likely be ipod > B&O.
  6. Was considering the PocketDock when I came across the Audioline cable. It could be a more logical option for desk-bound/bedside considering that there is an USB slot for charging the ipod while listening. Just wonder about the quality difference between using a direct out cable from dock to amp and via the PocketDoct which still required another mini to mini cable. Need some expert opinions on amping or not amping the ipod as I am a newbie (just starting to appreciate) in this topic. As I understood so far that by connecting an amp thru the headphone jack, the benefit is minimum as the output is going through the amp circuitry of the ipod and thus the amp act more as a volume booster. However, the output from the lineout (dock connector) bypasses the amp circuitry and thus has a cleaner signal which would benefit from amping. BTW, my setup will be ipod video 30G>PA2V2 (arriving soon ) > Alessandro MS1. Still researching on how best to connect the ipod to PA2V2.
  7. While on the path to searching for better sound from an ipod, I came across this: http://www.audiolineout.com/ Has anyone used this to connect their ipod to a headphone amp such as PA2V2? Would love to hear a local review.
  8. Paid almost the same price as I would online for the MS1. I didn't enquire about the MS2i though, was out of my budget. Do call Wilson if you have enquiries (number on his website), a real nice chap.
  9. Went to Jaben yesterday and got my first decent headphone Alessandro MS1 from Wilson ... he got my vote for the friendliest guy in Adelphi. As for the MS1 ... great can. I was tossed between the Grado SR80 and the MS1 for my ipod, decision was finally made after reading through all the feedbacks in sgheadphones. Thanks guys.
