  2. Nano battery replacement requires soldering skills.
  3. The Westone UM2 or super.fi 5EB should be what you're looking for... Though i personally prefer the ER4P/S.
  4. I'v been on RockBox for about afew weeks now. The expense of shorter battery life for all the great features and sound control has never bothered me. I will stay with rockbox for the time being.
  5. Yes theory, you arrange songs in folders when you have rockbox installed on your ipod. You can share your music (drag and drop) anytime you plug into a PC or Mac cause it's more like a conventional USB mp3 storage/ Player after being rockboxed. With itunes and apple's original firmware, i can't do that. Okay here is what i have found on the RockBox website that might help you get a better idea of what rockbox is capable of: iPod 4G, Color/Photo, Nano or Video Rockbox for the iPod 4G, Color, Nano and Video models all have a very wide range of codec support - MP3, Ogg Vorbis, Musepack, FLAC, AAC, ALAC, AC3 and WavPack are all supported in Rockbox. Additional music playback features include gapless playback and customizable crossfading, as well as a five-band fully-parametric equalizer to fine-tune sound output. iPods also get ReplayGain support for volume level normalization, and a large number of plugins, including games, applications, and "demos" - have some fun when you've got some free time to kill, open files with the text viewer, make use of the stopwatch, view some JPEG photos, or turn your iPod into a desktop clock. Also enjoy On-The-Go playlist creation and adjustment, full file bookmarking support and much more
  6. Item has already been sold. Thanks for looking!
  7. Sound improvements can be quite significant with the UM1. The ability to adjust EQ to compensate the treble roll offs is a plus. Battery life won't suffer dramatically. Quite usable and i have no plans to revert the firmware.
  8. I have my Nano Rockboxed. But i only used the PC to perform the FAT32 formatting while my powerbook (Mac) does the installation. Works fine for me.
  9. Had mine from Challenger Funan. Cost about $49 but was well worth it if you missed out on the MO. They carry other Koss models as well.
  10. Heard that won't be out till next year... next lineup should be nanos with higher capacity... and something to be done with the Shuffles. And of course more refurbished items to come.
  11. Making way for higher capacity nanos i suppose? Which will then give no reason for anyone not to buy the nano, hence increasing the sales of the Nike ipod sports device (whatever that's called)...
  12. Judging from those who had bought refurbished items, eg. the shuffle, e-macs, etc, they always arrive in pristine, un-marred conditions. I paid about $380+ for the 4gb nano with student discount and this refurbished package has set a price yet to be beaten. I will say it's a real steal or a must buy for those considering an iPod!
  13. If ratings justifies more than your own hearing, get the UM1.
  14. IEMs do not block out 100% of ambient noise.
  15. Selling this Item on behalf of a friend: For sale is a new Sennheiser PX100 in WHITE. The headphones were merely tried on for less than afew minutes and i can assure it's in super mint condition. The warranty card has been sent out to Senn's headquarters on the day of purchase (you will recieve the owner's portion of the warranty card). Includes full package, hardcase and instructions that came with the headphones. Comes with receipt to vouch date of purchase and warranty. Interested parties can PM me for more details on how to contact the seller regarding pricing and the necessary arrangements. Thank you.
  16. I tried and prefer the PX100 over the PX200 though i own the UM1s.
