  1. Strange, I thought I posted a reply, but it seems that it wasn't captured.

Yah, I thought I posted somethin 2, saw it yesterday but was gone this morning.

Mystery? Some'tin wrong with the server or deleted by the moderator I wonder ?

The question again is which Staxs will b ETAing in 2 weeks? The OMEGAS ? biggrin.gif

  2. I have just heard what is possibly one of the most detailed and refined cans around - the Stax. Although I only had the opportunity to listen to the Basic 2020 system, it still sounded far superior to dynamic can I've heard. Given that it comes with its own dedicated amp, the price at S$980 list can best be described as a bargain, highly recommended for classical, vocals, jazz and even pop, perhaps with the exception of rock. I heard a not run-in pair, so the bass should improve. Great stuff.

For those interested (hint to HPC), Kingsley will be bringing in the 3030, 4040 and the Omega II(I think) shortly.

Adhoc, for classical music, this can is ideal, beautiful tonality and inner detail.

Wah, the Omegas, but production of the IIIs should be delayed for sometime since the IIs are so popular. Can't wait to audition them.

  3. looks like a distant cousin to a Sugden. What other toys did you get?

Bought a Xindak SCD-2 SACD player too for a bargain, half the price of the same model offered by the local agent but one hack of a heavy 12kg player to hand carry back biggrin.gif

Wanted to buy the Xindak Power Conditioners for Mackie and Fuwen but they were unfortunately out of stock + there will be a one month waiting period.

Oh, u gotten the SCD-2. Do let us know if u've gotten newer toys and want to sell it off. tongue.gif

There is a secret weapon enroute to a buddy of mine, time will reveal the truth tongue.gif

  5. Partnered and tested it with the Musical Fidelity A3.2 + Van Den Hul ic + AT L3000, for a just out-of-the-box unit I must say that it kick some ass. Tonally if compared with the XP-7 it lacks a little "whack" on the low bass region but than again my XP-7 is also well burn-in. For less than S$200, I guess the "Original" master is a bargain, with external power supply n opamp "rollable".

Burnin-in for the next five days, will post some impressions later. biggrin.gif

  6. Bought this just new amp by "Original", very nice + external power supply.

    A roughly translated spec:

    - Power fission design, toroid transformer with Independent external power supply

structure housed in a close aluminium alloy chasis.

    - Pseudo Aluminium n Acrylic housing

    - ALPS micro-volume pot.

    - Independent R/L channels design.

    - Two 5532 op amp.

    - Profesional 6 pin power input receptacle.

    - S/N Ratio:100dB

    - Distortion Factor:0.0015%

    - Dynamic Range:96dB

    - Frequency Response:5Hz-20KHz

  7. Yes, I'm back. FYI there is a shop on the 3rd or fourth floor just next to a second hand dealer that have the LothX series + the Omegas full range speakers. Alternatively you can checkout the Klipschs at Tat Chuan Audio on the ground floor of Adelphi.

  8. And yes b4 I forget, a tip on getting good retail service anywhere is - always to address the service staff by their first name if you can, a real ego booster for most + will definitely and in my case get me the attention all the time. cool.gif

No Hey, helo miss/mr, "execute me" please:rolleyes:

Did anyone actually bother to find out the names of any of the service staff? sleep.gif

  9. I'll be travelling to China next week and thinking bout organizing a power buy for the above mentioned n recently much hyped Xindak power outlet. If I can get a minimum 8 order the price will be S$200 each, which is $50 cheaper than the local price of $250. So if anyone is interested, let me know by 2 March latest.

    Cheers
