  1. I think i have been having lots of questions recently.

Anyway if anyone have any experience with air-core coxial cable as interconnects. The cable have a centre solid core, followed by a structure that create air-core, or air columns. The shield then cover up the whoel internal structure followed by the insulation.

Anyone knows if this sort of construction is beneficial, anyone with any experience on it.

  2. Sure no problem, i can pass it to you at your place or we can meet at my sheryl's place, i havent been home.

If you would like you can also try my ck2III out, bought it over to her place but have got no time to time and opportunity to use it. Would be good if you could give it some good use and let me know your opinion about it.

  3. Hi guys,

my recent post seek for help on constructing a volume control by wiring 2 stereo jacks to a volume pot.

I have managed to get it done, 2 stereo jacks and a alps volume pot(100k), but it seems that its a little soft and i have to max the volume to hear the music.

I have not try it on my cd player which plays very loudly to my 600ohms headphone though, but have anyone tried anything similar and can shedsome liek if my idea should works.

  4. Thanks zer061zer0.

ezzo, it makes a lot of difference listening to it vs the output from my notebook but I have no other USB DAC to compare it with. With a CD in the notebook, it sounds better than my Panasonic portable CD player. I now prefer to listen to CDs on my notebook rather than from my portable CDP.

I think the AlienDAC is very good value for money.

Hi heady, if you are interested i can pass you a usb DAC for comparison, I am interested in hearing your opinions on the Alien DAC. I have 2 boards lying ard and I am thinking if i should be doing something this coming break, perhaps for the very last time(maybe), graduating soon.

  5. i think u should consider the rca plugs, I am speaking from the perspective of convenience.

The front mount are better when u need to tak off the stuff to troubleshoot or connect a wire that gone off somewhere on the knob or circuit board.

My SOHA which uses those ack mount types was so much of hassle when i tried to troubleshoot it. i think i have them at least a million times... hai

  6. Don't you guys sleep? :D

Got one set extra in case something burns. But you can also do it point to point.

Would really like sleep sometimes, but its sort geeting difficult to sleep sometimes, when u only sleep at 2-3am everyday.

Hmm.. i should go read up this thing when i can find the time

  7. Hi all,

I am seeking some help from someone who is working on any projects recently.

I need someone to help me with connecting a volume pot to 2 3.5mm socket, using it as a vollume control.

As my cd player as direct drive to my headphones is too loud.

Would like to connect up a pot to 2 socket in an eclipse mint tin, can someone help me with this.

Wouldnt mind paying a fee for the help, i have all the materials required.

  8. Mine is in rags... A cheap S$4.50 plastic box.

I can't hear anything from my monica in the quiet parts of music. When nothing is playing, I don't know if monica output anything. But then my wife and son said I am deaf, so what do I know? :)) I do know that listening to the Monica, quiet parts of music are really quiet, so it sounds like the dynamic range is increased as you can hear details when the volume is not high.

Don't worry about the PM. I bought the monica cheap by buying only the board and getting the parts myself. Also had it delivered to Malaysian address so save on delivery. Got friend stay in JB. :P

let me know if u are getting another piece, i would be interested in joining u
