I changed the power cord of my CDP. I'm quite bad with soldering so it ended up quite messy. Some day i will probably redo it. It's not that difficult actually, I just need to practice more on my soldering.

i'm quite a n00b with tubes... i only know that the 6z4 is a rectifier tube and the 6n3 is a gain tube. As to what they are for...

The tube nearest to the volume knob is the 6N3. Then followed by the 2 6N11. The long and thin tube is the 6Z4.

Are you just going to change the cord or will you be fitting the unit with an IEC socket?

hmm I havent change the 6N1 yet. For power cord I changed it and could hear the difference.

I havent compare it with with the LD2+ but seems that the general opinion is that the XS is better. And seems that most of the pple in this thread are XS users? I remember Jaben has one LD2+ ? Yup, just that i'm overseas now and don't have the amp with me Seems that headfi's drarthurwells has removed the 6N1 and the amp still works well.

I'm using LDM+ to drive a Senn HD580 which is 300 ohms. LDM+ knob at 11 o'clock position.
