    Dear all,

     

    Selling my power cord, power distributors and power line filter as i upgrade to line voltage regulator.

     

    Russ Andrew Yellow Power, power cord, UK plug to IEC, 01 mtr, about 1 1/2 year old, condition 9.5/10. Got it for S$ 90/- selling S$50/-

     

    AFA Aphrodite power distributors, UK plug - 03 mtr Aphrodite power cable - 04 spare uk point. Very thick power cable (17mm thick). Everything black include the plug, cable and distributor. Condition 9.5/10, comes with AFA pizza box. About 1 1/2 year old. Got it for S$370 selling S$180/-

     

    Quiet Line power line filter, LF-1 MKII. US plug (will throw in the converter) Condition 9.5/10. About 01 year old. Got it for S$75 selling S$40/-

    MS1 is able to deliver jazz and classical, it will sound clear highs more than you require :)) but not so much on punchy bass.

     

    No comment on audio technicas as i have noy heard them before.

     

    For me the best headphones in this price range is Grado SR60, coz i can't hear the diff between SR60, SR80 and MS1 :helpsmilie:

     

    But best is to head down and listen to your ear!

    the above isn't a power conditioner setup afaik. the quietline is a filter device. It helps if it is placed around the house near high drain devices and near light switch sockets.

    It is not useless. Supposedly quietline works best if they used around the house with a few. As of now, you are only using one so it is best to be plug in the power tray. But generally Singapore power is very clean.

    If it's a dedicated power supply direct from the DB, you don't even need any power conditioning device. I've only experience bad power once at a condo near Bartley road.. so far my current place, no problem.

    What can we expect if there is a bad power source?

     

    Maybe what we can do is to trace all the shared power point, listen hard to our fav song with all shared power point switch on, be it a tv, fan, laptop...and listen again with everything along the line off to spot a diff. That's what i'm going to try with my mum sleep :grin:

    I use AFA power extension tray, Russ Andrew Yellow power cord and a QuiteLine. Is this power conditioner? i can't feel any improvement in sound but they does look damn good.

     

    Heard from some friend it's useless coz the power socket is shared along with other electrical stuff in the house. Unless it's a dedicated power supply direct from the db box w/o sharing power point in other room.

     

    What do you guys think?

    Ah....before discussions lead to a myth, I think I'd better elaborate on a few issues regarding burn-in/run-in discs. These are simply tracks with recorded oscillating/alternating signals of different frequency to run-in the signal path....ie think electrons flow. No burn-in is permanent and if a system is left cold for month(s) on end, it will benefit for a few hours of burning in to sound optimal again.

     

    XLO electric is a company that produces audiophile cables. The cd concerned is a XLO-Reference Recording collaboration, one providing the technical know-how on conductivity and the other on recordings to facilitate these fuctions. The disc contains other tracks for speakers positioning, polarity checks etc. Pleae play the tracks at average listening volume and not LOW volume.

    Forgive my ignorance. :P

     

    It seems rather weird for manufacturers to make two headphones with similar names, rather confusing, just like the MS2 and MS2i.

     

    I saw somewhere that the MS2I is the improve version of MS2? Correct me if i'm wrong.

    Finally went down to Jaben on Sun, listen hard, find that the improvement over SR80 is worth the money and got myself MS2I. Saw a few of you guys but didn't get your names.

     

    Now burning in on my XLO burn-in cd :grin:

     

    And Uncle Wilson is indeed friendly.

     

    Appreciate for all your advice, now saving up for next project - Amp!
