I know of Bose's reputation being more hype than quality. Even then I was impressed by their TriPort IE and bought it on a whim after I tested it at a Bose factory outlet in California last year. US$99 plus tax. The bass is pretty impressive and the sound is detailed. However, it's not an in-ear type of headphone since the buds have a silicon sleeve that does not isolate the ear completely from the outside. No help in an MRT train. However, it sits very comfortably in the ear for very long periods of listening.

Note that this $400 figure may include the amount you paid for shipping the item to Singapore. SingPost once collected the GST from me plus a collection fee! Worse, they based the GST the total amount on the invoice which includes the cost of shipping. These days, I ask the seller not to pack a paper invoice and declare only the value of goods.
