I too agree that the new mylars aren't that good as the previous batches. However, there is a x3lb or less bass version which is comparable to the x3. I guess the new models are catered to the bass loving punk rock/alternative guys.

On the SE530, it represents the sennheiser sound signature due to the roll off at the highs. But the one that wins is the fit. I have never had a better fitting universal iem. But for classical, the UE Triple-Fi 10 does have better mids.

With regards to the Van Den Hul cable. Just get the rca jacks and whatever else you need, go to Kingsley on the 4th floor and but like 2 meters of the silver hybrid and they will make for you FOC.

You have a couple of options. You could go to Norman Audio to see the MIT Interconnects, Van Dan Hul for the silver hybrid DIY, not their premade ones, I use this cable for a mini to mini and it so far beats all the ic i have tested. However, You have to get the 4 rca jacks, teflex, heat shrink from LHS at Sim Lim Square. I got 15cm for 50. So its up to you if you feel its worth getting

I heard the Lehman Black Cube Linear and I must say it has very good synergy with the 650. I have not listened to the others so I cant comment.

Go to Jaben and ask Wilson about them. He might give you a better price than those at SLS.

The MS-1, MS-2, MS-PROs have a slightly different sound signature. Its best to listen. Pop by jaben, he has the above and some grados. The MS-1 sounds darn good, that I must agree for its price.

Another maybe the Senn HD555

I feel the DT990 doesnt cut it. I felt it had too much bass and the midrange cannot compare to a HD600. Furthermore, the HD600 can use aftermarket cables. Lastly, I have heard a 5 year old HD600 and i must say its heavenly. I sold off my 990 to get a 650.

Unless the HD590 is closed, which i don't think so, it can be used outside. However, if its an open can, ie you can see the inside of the headphone from the grills, then its a very bad idead. You will hear alot of outside noise.

Best suggestion, for portable, iems would be the way to go.

Take the stairs, as you exit the stairway, you will see electroades audio. Take the left, you will be facing a store with curtains drawn, on its left is a nice show room with MBL on its doors. This is Coherence Audio.

BTW, I do like the cardas with the 650 but am interested to try out the stefen cable. But its sooo expensive.
