  1. Hehe, thanks. I was really hoping and expecting the E2G to blow me away, but sadly it didn't. Despite the salesman saying the Cresyn wasn't even in the same league, I didn't feel that the E2G was that much better. He also recommended me a pair of cheaper AKGs that has a similar sound to the CX300, but it was too bassy for me. Ultimately the CX300 has the best mix for me
  2. Well I just auditioned the ER6i, UM1, CX 300, E2G and E630, and I actually like the CX300 best. The E2G doesn't fit my ear at all despite changing the buds, and while the UM1 is clearer, it has less bass and also has a weird way of wearing which I didn't like. I think I might get the CX300s.
  3. OK, I'm wondering how good the Etymotic Research ER6i/ER6C are? Etymotic Research was the first in ear phones I've heard of, and my bro is coming back from the States for CNY and is able to buy them for 60-70USD. Other choices I have are the Shure E2G for ~60USD and Sennheiser CX 300S for ~55USD Are these significantly better than the OVC/Cresyn/Creative, keeping in mind that I'm gonna be using it w/o an amp? Thanks.
  4. I hope Stereo sells the OVC then I won't be able to try the EP630 in the same setting since they don't seem to have that one anywhere. I did however try a demo unit at the Creative warehouse and it was pretty good compared to my stock buds, but that's not saying a lot. Headphones are too big for me. I want something small and unobtrusive that I can throw into a bag easily. Otherwise the Koss would also be in my list
  5. Thanks. I guess I'll pop by Stereo then. It's nearer to my work place. So any advice on what else I should be looking out for within my $50 budget? The OVC, JVC, Cresyn?
  6. OK, so if I were to go down somewhere to audition various earphones, which would be a better choice, Jaben or Stereo Electronics? In terms of variety, price and service?
  7. Well I actually won't mind paying the MRSP for them since it's still within my $50 budget, except I can't even find them in stock! And yes my budget is fixed and unwavering... I've heard something about a Creslyn within my price range? And where's OVC from?
  8. Just went to Creative showroom today during lunch. They have a EP630 demo set but I couldn't find a new unit - only have EP635 for $45. Best Denki also only has EP635 for $49.99 I think. Called Stereo Electronics and they have neither! But the person I spoke with says it usually goes for $35/39. Also called Jaben and they don't have it either, but the guy was trying hard to convince me to go down and listen to other better earphones... Hmm, where else can I find the EP630?
  9. Cool, thanks! After some forum searching it seems like the EP630 is the best bet in this price range. How much should I hope to pay for it? radioactive28 mentioned $35 but aaron-xp says it's more expensive at $42.
  10. Thanks. I've never heard of these places. I stay around Hougang but work in Jurong East. I was walking around Best Denki during lunch hour and saw an audio technica CK-5 for under $50 too. Is that any good too? btw I'm also looking for something that's relatively comfortable to wear. All my previous cheapo earphones that came with my portable players have given me a sore ear after wearing it for a while.
  11. Thanks. Where would be good places to get them? Big stores like Harvey Norman/Challenger or other specialty stores?
  12. Hi guys, I'm looking for a pair of cheap earphones to replace the ones that came with my Sansa E280. They distort are pretty low volumes especially at the low end, so I'm looking to get something that doesn't do that. What's good around the $50 mark, and where are good places where I can audition them? Thanks!
