maybe its the success rate digisound has?
-
Well aron recommended digisound and i trust him. I had settled to go to thsc since the service seems not too bad till they told me abt the sudden increase in price.
-
i believe its 60 without gst. i better double check tomorrow! later its 120 too! haha.
-
No way man. $120. WTH. a 4 fold increase over what you paid. Actually i got quoted $20 last thursday. If only i had gone on saturday or yesterday like direcow. then it would be $20 or $30 only. Looks like I am gonna go ahead with aron's suggestion and head to digisound at novena square.

This is the one. The one you and direcow went to.

Oh my... Sorry for the wrong information!
It's a different company! >.<

I got a rude shock when one of the staff called me up a few hours ahead of my appointment to tell me that the price of making a pair of ear impressions was now $60 PER SIDE. $120 a pair. Well what can i say.

Perfect fit 1st time?

Which is the digisound you guys went to? The novena one? There are 4 outlets and the katong one is the most convenient for me.

Hmm, i see no point in reshelling with an additional driver anymore. since it costs so much. I might as well sell off the superfi and get an Aero or something.
-
Looks like some lucky guy has the quad driver already.

Anyone know how much is it to add a driver for the SF5 reshelling?
-
Looks great! When will there be a six drivers custom from UM? The build looks better than any other customs out there already. Now its just the sound...
-
3 weeks of no earphone is nth compared to eternal bliss. Or compare that with the 4mnths that my fren nid to wait to get his customs from that other local retailer..
I used es2 cable with my superfi5pro when it was still a universal as well. All i can say is that it is so much better than the ue one. It may seem slim and filmsy, but the sound is fantastic and becos of its very light weight and flexible nature, no microphonics and u wont feel that yr superfi has any cables at all.
My pervious es2 cable use 2years le i think. No sign of untwirling.
So how would u compare the sound of the universal version and the custom version, both with es2 cables? I have a sf5pro that i m seriously considering remaking too.
Btw, so far has there been fitting issues with UM?
-
It's a new es2 cable.. Perhaps that can be the cause?
The process took me about 3 weeks if I am not wrong.
The other day in the library I put on my customs and realize that even volume one on my iPod touch is abut too loud for me. Lol.
The ES2 cables changes the sound. At least for me. It makes it clearer. But mine is the universal version still.

or get bestskinsever?

ACS don't do reshelling. and ACS is a custom earphone all the way, not reshell.
Yes, silicone is more comfortable then hard acrylic
I sort of remember reading somewhere that ACS will do reshelling of their IEMs for a certain fee should they not fit your ears anymore. Maybe I am wrong.
-
I'm thinking of having my t1 reshell with um should it break down in the future.
Shouldn't it be better and cheaper to reshell with ACS? And ain't silicone alot more comfortable than hard acrylic?
-
I do hope the built quality is better than the crossroads stuff. Though I think doing that is not that difficult.
-
bring back the free shipping promo! give me a reason to reshell my superfi 5 pros which has been lying around! and pics pls!

my experience was a hell yeah bad one. it felt as though my eardrums were on the verge of rupture. the pain is similar to diving to 4metres in depth without clearing your nose at all.
the guy at jaben who did my ear impressions told me that the pain is due to the air pressure in between the sponge-like thing and the eardrums. as the sponge-like thing enters deeper into the ear canal, the air pressure in between the sponge-like thing and the eardrums builds up, which results in the tormenting pain.
if this is his reasoning, it makes me wonder why some feel it and some don't?
maybe i have have sensitive ear nerves. mm. The next time i have another custom, i'm definitely going to an audiologist.
At least now we know where to avoid making impressions.
-
He may not be an audiophile but given the chance to hear the difference between wired and wireless, which do u think he would prefer? I think the wired would definitely be a better choice.

Thanks Aron for changing my ESW-10s! First rate service!
-
Has anyone compared the esw10 SQ with top IEM's like the ACS T1 and UE-11 Pro? Are they close?
-
