  1. obviously a statement from an "uninformed" person. stamp collection, at its extreme, is anything but a cheap hobby...
  2. tink u misunderstood me somehow. 150 is in no way peanuts to me. wat i meant was i saw in an earlier post that the cost to reshell would be around 150 and i though it was worth it. bt nw i just found out its more around the range of half of a pair of W3s, so i dun find it worth it personally. thats all... anyway... its a tough choice bt i tink i'll stick to universals coz i haf no probs with fit wif my triple flanges.
  3. but i can always make custom tips for the universals rite? i thought this sounded like a good idea coz saw somewhere earlier that the price to reshell would be ard $150. bt then nw its gona add up to half the price of a W3 i kinda dun see the point. might as well invest the money to get a new sounding pair of iems. but the custom thingy is damn tempting. problem abt making custom tips for universals is that it will make the iems stick out. kinda sad coz i like the low profile and comfort of the UMs so much that i swear nt to touch any other iems.
  4. hmm... like that might as well i sell my UM2s, top up and get the W3s and get a totally new experience for my ears. Reshelling wont make much diff in SQ rite? Other than the fact that its custom fit, i think if im going to spend that much might as well top up abit more for W3s or the UM3x. anyone wana give their opinion?
  5. may i know the price for reshelling the UM2s. my ears have been de-sensatized to the UM2 sound already(no more wow factor when listening to it) so considering reshelling to customs or sell this off and jump over to W3s... which will burn a bigger hole in my pocket? hmm....
  6. warrenty is not an issue. its clearly my fault. and anyway warrenty over liao. i juz wana noe if they can change the wires. i noe for superfi the wires can be changed but not sure for westones. and hopefully its nt too expensive also coz if it comes up to ard $100 i might as well get a new pair in the second hand market.
  7. URGH!!!! In a moment of sheer stupidity and carelessness, i ended up ripping the cord of my iem, a Westone Um1. the thing was hanging out of my pocket and i got it hooked on something. i felt a thug and poof, i became a "proud" owner of a now useless Um1 which i worked so hard for to get. now that the story telling of my stupidity is over, i need help. anyone know if anything can be salvaged? like can the cord be changed? the iems are in perfect condition, just with ripped cords. its ripped at the Y-junction. if anyone knows how to fix this problem do tell me. thx alot
