i would say Lisa or i-qube. but since Lisa is more of a transportable than portable, i-qube would be the gandalf.
Lisa... that is one hugh portable... lol.
dun think u can call it portable

My ears sweat a lot too. My DT880 looked disgusting just after a week or two, so had to wash quite often and the velvet looked real bad after a short while.
I think real leather is best as my sweat will keep it soft and shiny.....
soft and shiny? but does it feel icky after a while...
so... which would be a better recommendation for sweaty ears? sponge or leather

Don't worry, nothings wrong with the Pico, in fact I like the cosmetic and size of the Pico better than any portable amps out there but of cos you should audition the i-Qube first.
I may be temped to buy the i-qube once i listen to it...
What is your opinion on the Pico compare to the i-qube? is it worth the bucks for the pico or i-qube is more worth it.
put it this way, in terms of SQ, the iBasso T2 to closer to the Toma than the Toma to the i-qube.
yeah but then there would be no point of me getting the T2 if it sounds the same as the toma

Maybe you may want to check out the HOME EQUIPMENT SECTION ... headamp PICO thread. I-QUBE still my best choice for any amp at $1000.
Thats provided he has the budget.

That super ex for a pair of headphones... is it really that fantastic compare to the HD650
-
For double the price of the tomahawk... it had better be gd

hmmm... ok... will try to make an appt to go down to stereo. I read that the i-qube is fantasic and blows away all competition... but it requires 4 AA batt to operate... sigh...
-
dat is of course... the tomahawk sound is far from the i-qube... can consider something slightly larger but not bigger than my Cowon D2
-
one more thing I need to ask... what kind of cushion do these headphones use? bcos my ears sweat after long period of listening... so is it sponge or cloth?
-
sound from the T2 not as nice as the tomahawk
-
any model from Ultrasones which i can go do some research on?

-ohn' date='5 Mar 2008, 10:14 AM' post='99001']The Pico is available in the non-DAC version which I have, it's very well built and small, in comparision to my Hornet, it made the hornet look like it was made in China.
Soundwise, the pico is definitely better than the Hornet in many area. Firstly, it's quieter and I can appreciate quiet classical passages better. Vocal tracks sounds detail and bass is tight and controlled, probably loses out to the hornet in speed and attack which I don't listen to most of the time.
Still I'm returning the Pico back to Justin tomorrow, did I mention I did a A/B with the i-qube?
Why you returning the pico? anything wrong with it?
I dun want the i-qube becos its too big an bulky. Want something smaller... I am currenty using the tomahawk

Closed-cans normally offer better isolation and quieter. Whereas the open ones, would sound more airy and open, but you can hear environmental sound pollution and they can hear yours as well.
You would really need to state your budget or everyone will start to recommend HIGH DAMAGE headphones.
But in terms of sound wise... which gives a fuller sound

I wun be getting the pico for the DAC... it would be just used a an amp. I have not tried the P2 or the D2, will check out some of the reviews first...
-
How does the hd650 sound on the D2. I am also using a D2. Planning to use the headphones only when at home.. think it will be very troublesome to carry a set of cans around... especially when my job require me to travel around alot
-
dat would be like a downgrade for me
-
don't have a budget. what would be a good set? I have read some reviews on the bt880 and hd650. but I need to know if an mp3 player is able to drive the cans
-
I am currently using shure e5c and would like to move to cans... any recommendations? btw what is the difference between closed and open cans
-
